키스 해링 작품을 응용한 아트 메이크업 디자인

국문 초록

본고의 목적은 키스 해링(Keith Haring) 작품에 나타난 만화적 요소를 분석하고 이를 활용하여 아트 메이크업 디자인을 제시함으로써 창의적 디자인 발상과 새로운 표현 영역을 창출해내는 데 있다. 연구방법은 선행연구와 인터넷, 전문서적을 토대로 키스 해링 작품의 특성과 아트 메이크업에 대해 이론적 고찰한 후 키스 해링 작품의 만화적 요소를 아이콘, 칸 나눔, 캐릭터로 분류하여 아트 메이크업 디자인총 6작품 제안하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 첫째, 간결한 선과 강렬한 색의 키스 해링 작품은 아트 메이크업에 적용 가능하게 나타났다. 둘째, 만화적 요소의 독창적인 아트 메이크업 디자인을 제안함으로써 표현 영역을 넓힐 수 있도록 방향성을 제시하였다. 본 연구는 아트 메이크업 디자인 개발을 위한 방안으로 활용될 수 있으며 향후 다양하고 유익한 소재의 아트 메이크업 디자인 연구가 활발히 이루어지기를기대해본다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze and utilize the cartoonish elements in the pop art imagery of Keith Haring, present an art design based on the results, and suggest new creative ideas and a fresh scope of expression. To that end, the study adopted the methods consisting of contemplation on the theories proposed due to Keith Haring’s characteristics and art makeup based on reviews from previous research, the Internet, and literature on a specific subject and subsequently divided the artists’ cartoonish elements into categories, including icons, partitions, and characters, to propose six art make up designs. As a result, this study first allowed the simple lines and vivid colors of Haring’s artworks to be applied to art makeup. Next, it proposed the directions to extend such expressive realms by connecting art makeup design with cartoonish unique art makeup designs. It is expected that this study can be adopted to develop art makeup design to a greater extent and contribute to carrying out extensive research with wide-ranging subject matter in the future.
