국문 초록

본 연구는 결록서의 종류와 작성 경위를 문헌고찰을 통해 분석하고, 활용이유에 대해 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 결록의 저술배경에는 다양한 상황요인이 반영되었는데, 본인이 살다간 흔적을 남긴 것이라 할 수 있다. 평생 갈고 닦은 실력을 바탕으로 길지를 찾아 후세인들에게 남긴 것으로, 그야말로 타인을 위한 삶을 살았다고 할 수 있다. 결록이 등장한 시기는 주로 혼란한 시대상황과 맞물려 있다. 임진왜란을 비롯하여 정유재란과 병자호란 그리고 구한말, 일제강점기와 같은 사회적 혼란기에 비결서는더욱더 그 위력을 발휘하였다. 사실 여부와 관계없이 결록은 다양하게 활용되었는데, 존재감을 드러내고 높은 몸값을 받을 수 있는 수단으로 활용되었다. 말만 하는 풍수가보다는 비록 필사본이라 해도 결록을 가진 풍수사의 말은 훨씬 더 신뢰감을 줄 수 있었고, 높은 몸값을 받는 것은 당연한 상황이었다. 따라서 결록은 단순하게 제작된 것이 아니고, 다양한 상황과 인식을 반영하고 있으며, 시대상조차 반영하고 있다. 뿐만 아니라 본인의 몸값을 올리는 수단이자 부족한 실력을 보완하는 방편으로 활용되었다. 그러므로 지속적 연구를 통해 결록이 가지는 다양한 의미와 특징을 해석하는 연구가 이루어져야 한다.

영문 초록

In this study, I intended to classify types of feng shui secret documents, investigate how they were written, and examine the reasons for their use. Feng shui experts wrote secret documents reflecting various situational factors. We can say that they lived their lives for others because they searched the auspicious locations based on the skills they have attained throughout their lives and left them to future generations. The period when the feng shui secret documents appeared was mainly a chaotic era. During the social chaos such as the Japanese invasion of Korea in 1592, the second Japanese invasion of Korea in 1597, the Manchu war in 1636, the period of the Korean empire, and the Japanese colonial period, feng shui secret documents exerted their power more. No matter whether the secrets were true or not, feng shui experts used them in various ways, and they improved their presence and made them receive high commissions. Even if the document was a manuscript, people trusted a feng shui expert with the secret document much more than a feng shui expert who only spoke, so it increased the fees. Feng shui secret document was not simply written but reflected various situations, perceptions, and even the phases of the times. In addition, they used them as a means to raise their commissions and supplement their lack of skills. Thus, there must be follow-up studies to interpret the various meanings and characteristics of the feng shui secret documents.
