국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 해외입양 다큐멘터리에 나타난 한국계 입양인들의 트라우마를 분석하는 데 있다. 최근 한국에서 보내진 해외 입양인들이 모국으로 귀환하는 사례가 많아졌고, 이들에 대한 이해가 어느 때보다 필요해 보인다. 이를 위해, 한국계 해외 입양인 출신 감독의 다큐멘터리 “나란히: 한국의 고아에서 세계 속으로”를 통해 국가 간, 인종 간 입양 트라우마를 이해하고자 한다. 본 연구의 결과로, 다큐멘터리에 참여한 해외 입양인들은 생애 전반에 걸쳐 애착 외상, 인종 문제, 정체성 부정 등의 입양 트라우마를 경험한다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 입양인들의 트라우마 징후와 원인에 대한 이해는 귀환 입양인에 대한 이해를 돕고 더불어 다문화가 가속화를 넘어 세분화되고 있는 우리 사회에 의미 있는 시사점을 줄 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the trauma of Korean adoptees in inter-country adoption documentary. Recently, there have been many cases of overseas adoptees returning to their home countries, and an understanding of them seems more necessary than ever. Through the documentary directed by a Korean adoptee, I try to focus on the trauma of inter-country, transracial adoption. As a result, it was found that the adoptees who participated in the documentary experienced adoption trauma such as attachment, racism, and identity throughout their lives. Knowing the signs and causes of adoptees' trauma will help understand return adoptees and give meaningful implications to our society, where multiculturalism is becoming subdivided beyond acceleration.
