직업 생애 관점에서 본 명예퇴직 중등교원의 통과의례적 경험

국문 초록

본 연구는 교사의 직업 생애의 경험이 하나의 통과의례로 해석할 수 있다는 가정하에 순조로운 정체성전환을 위한 의식의 중요성과 실효성 있는 제도의 필요성을 제안하고자 한다. 이를 위해 “중등교사의직업 생애 중 통과의례의 경험은 어떠한가”, 둘째, “중등교사의 명예퇴직의 통과의례적 의미는 무엇인가”로 연구문제를 설정하였다. 2022년 8월부터 10월까지 명예퇴직 중등교원 5명과 심층면접을 진행한결과, 입직-재직-퇴직의 범주로 나뉜 교사의 직업 생애 안에서 입사, 전보, 보직, 연수 및 학위취득, 퇴직의 통과의례를 경험하였고 분리-전이-통합의 통과의례 도식 형태가 나타났다. 이와 같은 과도기적 통과의례의 고비를 순조롭게 넘기기 위해서 퇴임식과 같은 적절한 의식은 물론 정체성 형성 및 위기 정서 지원 상담 프로그램, 퇴직준비교육 및 심리상담지원 등이 필요하다.

영문 초록

This study aims to propose the importance of consciousness and the need for an effective system for smooth identity transformation under the assumption that a teacher's professional life experience can be interpreted as a rite of passage. To this end, the research question was set up as “What is the experience of passing rituals during the professional life of secondary teachers?” and second, “What is the ritual meaning of passing voluntary retirement of secondary teachers?” As a result of in-depth interviews with five honorary retired secondary teachers from August to October 2022, they experienced the rite of passage of employment, transfer, position, training and degree acquisition, and retirement in the occupational life of teachers divided into employment-job-retirement. In order to smoothly overcome the crisis of such transitional passage ceremonies, appropriate consciousness such as retirement ceremonies, identity formation and crisis emotional support counseling programs, retirement preparation education, and psychological counseling support are needed.
