국문 초록

본 연구는 국내 국·공립대학교의 교양교육 체계와 함께, 전공 자유 선택 제도로서 자유(율) 전공 학부등의 현황을 탐색하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 국·공립대학교는 교육의 본질과 학문적 정체성을 추구하면서도 시대적인 추이와 교육 수요를 반영해야 하는 상황에 있다. 본 연구는 국내 국·공립대학교의 교양교육과정 및 조직 체계, 전공 탐색과 선택의 자율성을 위한 제도를 살펴보고자 한다. 연구를 위해 2023 년 4~7월에 국내에 소재한 국·공립대학이 공개하고 있는 대학 요람, 학교 홈페이지 등을 토대로 최신자료를 조사하였다. 연구 결과로 국내 국·공립대학교의 교양교육과정 및 전공 자유 선택 제도의 운영현황 및 사례를 제시하였고 공통점과 차별점을 확인하였다. 본 연구를 통해 국내 국·공립대학교의 교양교육과정 및 전공 선택 제도의 동향을 확인하고 향후의 교육적인 발전 방향을 모색할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to explore the current state of the liberal arts education system of national and public universities in Korea, as well as department of free major as a major free choice system. National and public universities are in a situation where they must reflect the trend of the times and the demand for education while pursuing the nature and academic identity of education. This study aims to examine the liberal arts curriculum and organizational system, and the system for autonomy in searching and selecting majors of national and public universities in Korea. For the study, the latest data were investigated based on the university catalogs and school website released by national and public universities in Korea from April to July 2023. As a result of the study, the operation status and cases of the liberal arts curriculum and major free choice system of domestic national and public universities were presented, and the commonalities and differences were confirmed. Through this study, it will be possible to identify trends in the liberal arts curriculum and major selection system of domestic national and public universities and to seek future educational development directions.
