작업회상치료가 치매 노인의 인지기능과 자아존중감에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 작업회상치료가 치매 노인의 인지기능과 자아존중감에 미치는 효과를 확인하는 것이었다. 대상자는 치매 진단을 받은 노인 10명이었다. 평가는 한국판 간이정신상태검사와 자아존중감 척도를 사용하여 대상자를 평가하였다. 작업회상치료는 매 회기 한 시간씩 주 1회 총 8회기를 실시하였다. 작업회상치료 중재 프로그램을 시작하기 전에 먼저 대상자들에게 익숙하고 즐거웠던 활동을 조사하여 회상치료 프로그램을 구성하였다. 수집된 자료는 대응표본 t 검정을 통해 결과를 확인하였다. 연구결과 작업회상치료를 적용하기 전보다 적용한 후에 대상자들의 인지기능과 자아존중감의 점수가 향상되었고 이는 통계적으로 유의미하였다. 또한 대상자들은 적극적으로 작업회상치료 프로그램에 참여하면서 상호작용이 촉진되고 긍정적 정서가 표현되는 것이 관찰되었다. 작업회상치료는 치매 노인의 인지기능 및 자아존중감을 향상시키며, 작업회상치료가 치매에 긍정적인 중재방법임을 확인할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

This study was to investigate the effects of occupation reminiscence on cognitive function and self-esteem in the elderly with dementia. The subjects were 10 elderly patients who were diagnosed with dementia. The evaluation was performed using the Mini-Mental State Examination-Korean and Self-Esteem Scale. Occupation reminiscence was conducted once a week for a total of eight sessions. Occupation reminiscence was organized by reviewing activities that were familiar and enjoyable by the subjects before the start of intervention. The data were verified through a paired t test. As a result, the scores of cognitive function and self-esteem were improved after application than before occupation reminiscence treatment, which was statistically significant. It was also observed that the participants actively participated in the activities, promoting social interaction and expressing positive emotions. Occupation reminiscence was found to improve the cognitive function and self-esteem of the elderly with dementia, therefore occupational reminiscence was a positive intervention for the dementia.
