일본 전통사찰의 건축양식 고찰

국문 초록

일본은 한국과 중국의 사찰건축을 모태로 동아시아 대륙의 끝부분에 있는 섬이라는 지형적 특성을 살려 외세의 간섭 없이 비교적 자유롭게 사찰건축 양식을 발달시킬 수 있었다. 이에 본 연구는 일본의 전통사찰건축에 있어서 전통 목구조를 비롯한 공포구조의 건축양식을 시대별로 건축사례를 들어 그 특징을 분석하는 데 목적을 두고, 시대별로 나타나는 사찰건축의 가람 양식과 건축양식을 분석하였다. 이에 따라 일본 가람 양식을 대표하는 법륭사와 약사사, 서룡사를 중심으로 사례를 들어 가람 양식을 분석하였고, 건축양식에 있어서 비조양식은 호오류우지 금당을, 나라시대 초기의 백봉양식은 야쿠시지 동탑을, 나라시대 말기의 천평양식은 도쇼우다이지 금당과 호오류우지 몽전을 사례를 들어 분석하였다. 평안시대의 홍인·정관양식은 화양으로 대표되는데, 쵸오주지 본당을 사례를 들어 분석하였다. 겸창양식은 대불양과 선종양, 절충양으로 구분할 수 있는데, 대불양은 도오다이지 남대문을, 선종양은 쇼오후쿠지 지장당을, 절충양은 가쿠린지 본당을 사례로 들어 분석하였다.

영문 초록

There are three main Garan types of Japanese traditional temples. Horyu-ji is one tower-one Kondoh type where a tower and a Kondo are installed together in the corridor. Yakushi-ji is two towers-one Kondo type. There are two towers in front of the Kondo in the corridor. Also there is one axis to be composed by a gate, two towers, a Kondo and a Kodo. Zuiryu-ji is no tower type in the corridor, there is one axis to be composed by a gate, a Kondo and a Kodo in the corridor. These three Garan types are composed of a gate, one or two towers, a Kondo, a Kodo as main buildings. Research Buildings about architectural style of Japanese traditional Buddhist temple are as follows - the Kondo in Horyu-ji which represents the Asuka style in the Asuka era, the east tower in Yakush-ji which represents the Hakuhou style of the early Nara era, the Kondo in Toshodai-ji and Yumedono in Horyu-ji which represents the Tenpyo style of the Tenpyo era, and Hondo in Chojyu-ji which represents the Wayoh style in the Gonin and Sadagan styles of the Heian era. In the Kamakura era, Kamakura style is possible to classify three styles – Daibutsuyoh style, Zenshuyoh style, Setchuyoh style. Daibutsuyoh style is the Nandaimon in Todai-ji. Zenshuyoh style is the Jizodo in Shofuku-ji. And Setchuyoh style is the Hondo in Kakurin-ji.
