국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 대학생의 불확실성에 대한 인내력 부족과 우울의 관계가 해석 편향에 의해 매개되는지 탐색하는 것으로, 이를 통해 궁극적으로는 우울에 영향을 미치는 변인들에 대한 이해를 높이고 우울의 치료적 개입 시 도움이 될 수 있는 기초 자료를 제공하고자 하였다. 참가자는 533명의 대학생으로, 불확실성에 대한 인내력 부족(Intolerance of Uncertainty Scale), 해석 편향(Ambiguous/ Unambiguous Situations Diary-Extended version)과 우울(The Center for Epidemiological Studies-Depression Scale)을 측정하기 위해 자기 보고식 설문지를 수행하였다. 자료는 SPSS 20.0과 SPSS Macro로 분석하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 불확실성에 대한 인내력 부족과 우울은 해석 편향과 유의한 정적 상관관계가 나타났다. 둘째, 불확실성에 대한 인내력 부족과 우울의 관계에서 해석 편향의 부분 매개효과가 유의하였다. 이는 불확실성에 대한 인내력 부족이 우울에 직접적으로 영향을 미칠 뿐 아니라 모호한 상황을 부정적으로 해석하게 하여 우울에 간접적인 영향을 미친다는 것을 시사한다. 이러한 연구 결과를 토대로, 연구의 의의 및 한계와 후속 연구를 위한 제한점을 토의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of his study was to examine the mediating effects of interpretation bias on the relationship between intolerance of uncertainty and depression among college students. And eventually we aimed to improve understanding of the variables that affect depression and to provide basic data that could be helpful in therapeutic interventions for depression. Participants were 533 college students who completed the self-report questionnaires measuring intolerance of uncertainty(Intolerance of Uncertainty Scale), interpretation bias(Ambiguous/Unambiguous Situations Diary-Extended version), and depression(The Center for Epidemiological Studies-Depression Scale). The data were analyzed using SPSS 20.0 and SPSS Macro. The results were as follows. First, there were significantly positive correlations of interpretation bias with intolerance of uncertainty and depression. Second, there was a partial mediating effects of interpretation bias in the influence of intolerance of uncertainty on depression. This suggests that intolerance of uncertainty not only directly affects depression, but also indirectly affects depression by negatively interpreting ambiguous situations. Based on these findings, those significance and limitations and suggestions for further study were discussed.
