국문 초록

본 연구는 광장과 사이버스페이스의 특성을 분석하여 각각의 단점을 상호 보완할 수 있는 계획을 통하여 물리적 공간과 사이버스페이스의 이용자들이 각각의 소통의 주체성과 공동체 의식을 회복할 수 있는 방법을 제안하고자 하는 연구이다. 이를 위하여 본 연구에서는 소통의 상징성을 가진 광화문 광장을 대상으로 상호보완적 디자인 개념을 적용한 계획안을 제안한다. 본 연구에서 제안된 계획안의 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 광화문 광장의 역사적, 지리적, 사회문화적 특성을 분석하여 미래지향적인 광장의 형태로 재구축한다. 둘째, 광장과 사이버스페이스의 각 공간이 가지는 장소적 특성이 상호 보완되어 서로의 한계점을 극복할 수 있는 계획요소로 사이버스페이스의 매개체인 스마트 셀을 곳곳에 설치하여 광화문 광장이 물리적, 비 물리적 공간의 경계를 넘어설 수 있는 공동체의 장으로서의 역할을 할 수 있도록 한다. 본 연구에서 제안하는 광화문 광장 계획안은 물리적 공간과 사이버스페이스의 한계점을 상호 보완할 수 있는 미래지향적이고 현대사회의 요구에 적합한 광장으로서의 새로운 대안이라는 점에서 연구의 의미를 갖는다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to propose a method for the users of physical space and the cyberspace to recover the subjectivity of the communication and the consciousness of the community by the plan that can complement each other s disadvantages based on the characteristics of the square and the cyberspace. For this purpose, this study proposes a master plan applying complementary design concepts to Gwanghwamun Square. The contents of the proposed plan are as follows. First, to reorganize Gwanghwamun Square as a future-oriented place that can be communicated with the cyberspace by the analysis of the historical, geographical, and cultural backgrounds. Second, by the Smart Cells which can communicate with the cyberspace, Gwanghwamun Square can serve as a forum for communities that can cross the boundary of the physical and the non-physical space. Gwanghwamun Square master plan proposed in this study is a possible alternative as a square that is future-oriented and complies with the needs of modern society by complementing the limitations of the physical space and the cyberspace.
