국문 초록

문화예술만으로 환경문제를 해결하긴 어렵다. 하지만 문화예술 본연의 인지적 가치와 예술적 행동을 통해 공동체의 인식을 고취시키고, 나아가 다양성 존중 및 지역사회 문제해결에 기여하는 등 ESG경영을실천하기 위한 노력을 뒷받침한다. 오늘날 ESG경영은 거스를 수 없는 대세로 자리매김한 만큼, 기업이ESG경영을 효과적으로 실천하기 위해 놓쳐선 안 되는 부분 중 하나가 바로 문화예술에 대한 지원과협력일 것이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 문화예술을 통한 ESG경영의 지속가능한 방향을 도출하기 위하여, 국내외 기업 문화재단의 사례를 분석하였으며, 이를 통해 환경, 사회, 거버넌스 각 영역에서의 실천 방향을 도출해냈다. 또한, 기업과 문화예술계가 자선적이고 시혜적인 관점에서 상호호혜적인 파트너십으로 구축되어야 하며, 무엇보다 기업의 업(業)과 연계된 ‘기업시민’ 활동을 통해 지속가능성을 확보할 필요가 있다는 시사점을 도출하였다.

영문 초록

There are limitations in solving environmental problems solely through culture and arts. However, it can support efforts to practice ESG management by raising community awareness through the inherent cognitive value of culture, art, and artistic actions and further contributing to respecting diversity and solving community problems. As ESG management has become an unstoppable trend, support and cooperation for culture and arts should be considered for companies to practice ESG management effectively. Therefore, The objective of this study is to identify a sustainable direction for ESG management through the culture and arts. To this end, the study analyzed case studies from both domestic and international corporate cultural foundations and derived actionable directions within the realms of environmental, social, and governance. The study further suggests that a shift from a solely charitable and benevolent standpoint to a mutually beneficial partnership between corporations and the cultural and arts sector is essential. The study underscores the need to secure sustainability through 'corporate citizenship' activities that are connected to the business of the corporations.
