국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 환경 지속가능성과 관광산업이 거주민의 행복에 미치는 개별효과 및 상호작용 효과를 실증하는 것이다. 연구방법은 환경 지속가능성 점수와 관광 수입을 독립변수, 행복 지수를 종속변수, 그리고 국민소득, 경제성장, 보건, 수명을 통제변수로 다중회귀분석을 실시한다. 본 연구는 전 세계국가를 대상으로 국가 전반의 환경, 관광 및 행복을 지표화한 자료를 사용하여 글로벌 차원에서 연구결과의 활용성을 강화한다. 연구결과 환경 지속가능성과 관광산업은 개별적으로 행복 수준에 영향을 미치지 않았으나, 환경 지속가능성과 관광산업의 상호작용은 행복 수준을 유의하게 증가시키는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 거주민의 행복 수준을 높이기 위해 지역사회의 환경을 보호하고 환경 친화적 관광 개발에대한 지원을 확대해야 한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the individual and interactive effects of environmental sustainability and tourism on the happiness of residents. The research method used multiple regression analysis with environmental sustainability and tourism revenue as independent variables, happiness index as dependent variable, and national income, economic growth, health, and life expectancy as control variables. This study strengthens the usability of results at a global perspective by using the indexed data around the world. The results of the study showed that environmental sustainability and the tourism industry did not individually affect the level of happiness, but the interaction effect significantly increased the level of happiness. Therefore, to enhance the level of happiness of residents, the community’s environment must be protected and support for environmentally friendly tourism development must be expanded.
