기후위기에 관한 한·중 대학생의 인식 비교

국문 초록

본 연구는 국내 재학 중인 한·중 대학생의 기후위기에 관한 인식의 차이를 살피고, 대학에서 국내외 대학생 대상 기후위기 대응 관련 인지적 태도 변화를 통한 실천적 행동을 끌어낼 방안을 제시하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 연구결과, 기후위기의 심각성과 기후위기로 인한 영향, 대응에서 한국 대학생이 중국 대학생보다 많은 부분 높게 인식하고 있으며, 한국, 중국 대학생 모두 자국의 기후위기 대응에 관하여 적절하게 생각하고 있다는 것을 확인하였다. 하지만 2023 ‘기후변화대응지수’보고서에서 중국 51위, 한국 60위로 양국 모두 ‘매우 미흡’ 평가를 받은 것으로 볼 때, 이는 객관적인 시선에서 자국을 평가하지 못한 것으로 환경교육의 부재에서 나온 결과라 본다. 따라서, 기후위기 대응 관련 인지적 태도 변화와 자발적 참여 행동을 이끌기 위해서는 대학에서 국내, 국외 대학생을 대상으로 기후위기 교육과정 개설을 통한 교육적 접근이 필요함을 확인하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to analyze the differences in how Korean and Chinese college students perceive climate crisis and to suggest strategies to elicit practical action through changes in cognitive attitudes related to addressing this issue. Results indicate that Korean students show a higher level of awareness about the severity of climate crisis, its impact, and the necessary response, compared to Chinese students. Moreover, both groups display appropriate concerns about their respective countries' climate crisis responses. Despite this, both countries were rated as 'very low' in the 2023 'Climate Change Performance Index' report, with China ranked 51st and Korea 60th. This discrepancy could be due to lack of objectively in evaluating their countries and a lack of environmental education. Therefore, to foster a change in cognitive attitudes and stimulate voluntary participation in climate crisis mitigation efforts, introduction of a climate crisis curriculum in universities is needed.
