국문 초록

본 연구는 노인의 사회참여가 사회의 노인 존중 의식 및 사회의 개선 기대에 영향을 미치는지를 확인하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 2021년 경기도에서 진행된 경기도 노인실태조사 자료를 이용하여 총 3,211 명을 대상으로 경향성을 확인하기 위해 기술통계를 실시하였다. 또한 관계를 알아보기 위해 상관분석을실시하였으며 마지막으로 노인의 사회참여가 사회의 노인 존중 의식 및 개선 기대에 영향을 미치는지확인하기 위해 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 노인의 사회참여가 증가하면 노인이 지각하는 사회의 노인 존중 의식이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 노인의 사회참여가 증가하면 우리 사회의 노인 존중 의식 개선 기대 또한 낮은 것으로 확인되었다. 이상의 연구 결과를 바탕으로 노인의 사회참여와 노인인권 인식에 관한 정책적 함의점을 제시하고 있다.

영문 초록

This study aims to examine whether social participation of older adults influences perceptions of respect for older adults in our society. In addition, this study analyzes the extent to which social participation of older adults is related to older adults’ expectations of improvement in respect for older adults in our society. The study sample is 3,211 elderly from the Gyeonggido Survey of the Elderly in 2021. To test the research questions, this study employed descriptive statistics, correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analyses. Key research findings are as follows: First, this study found negative impacts of elderly’s social participaton on the perceptions of respect for older adults in our society. Second, the elderly’s social participation had negative impacts on the expectations of improvement in the respect for older adults in our society. Based on the research findings, this study concludes by proposing several implications to enhance both social participation and respects for older adults in our society.
