국문 초록

본 연구는 디지털 미디어 환경에서 생성형 인공지능 환경에 직면하고 있는 우리나라 초등학생의 미디어 활용과 교육에 대한 인식과 태도를 알아보는 데 의의가 있다. 이에 우리나라 국가 교육과정 차원에서 초등학생들이 접하고 있는 정보교육의 현황을 살펴보았으며, 초등학교 4, 5, 6학년을 대상으로 한스마트폰 이용 실태, 유투브와 온라인 및 모바일 게임의 이용 시간 등에 대한 설문을 분석하였다. 연구결과 학습 관련 유투브 시청보다 비학습 관련 유투브 시청 시간이 더 많고, 유투브에서 접하는 정보에대한 신뢰가 높았다. 미디어교육 경험에 관한 설문 결과, '온라인에서 제공된 정보가 사실인지 아닌지를 구분하는 방법에 대한 교육'을 받은 학생들의 비율은 다른 미디어교육보다 낮았다. 이를 통해 미디어에 접하는 시간이 증가함에 따라 미디어의 본질을 이해하고 평가하는 능력이 저절로 생기는 것은 아니며, 정보를 습득하고 활용하는 데에는 비판적 시각과 의식적인 노력이 필요하며, 학생들이 받은 교육에 대한 인식 제고가 중요하다는 결론을 도출할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

This study examined the perceptions and attitudes of elementary school students in Korea facing a generative artificial intelligence environment in the digital media environment. At the level of the national curriculum in Korea, this study looked at the current status of software education encountered by elementary school students, and analyzed surveys on smartphone use, YouTube and online/mobile games for 4th, 5th, and 6th graders. As a result of the study, there was more time spending to watch YouTube related to non-learning than learning, and the trust in the information encountered on YouTube was high. As a result of a survey on media education experience, the proportion of students who received “education on how to distinguish whether information provided online is true or not” was lower than that of other media education. Therefore, the ability to understand and evaluate the media does not arise by itself as time increases, and it requires a critical perspective and conscious effort to acquire and use information. Finally, it is important to raise awareness of the education students received.
