어떤 성격의 사람이 권태에 취약할까?

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 권태성향과 성격(HEXACO 모형)의 6가지 요인 간의 관계를 살펴봄으로써 어떤 성격 특성이 권태에 취약한지를 탐색하였다. 대학생 168명의 자료를 수집하여 중다회귀분석을 시행하였다. 분석결과, 외향성, 개방성, 성실성은 내적 권태성향에 부적으로 유의한 영향력을 보였고 3개 요인의 설명변량은 약 50%였다. 정직/겸손성, 외향성, 원만성은 외적 권태성향에 부적으로 유의한 영향력을 보였고 3개 요인의 설명변량은 약 22%였다. 외향성은 두 권태성향 모두와 유의미한 관련성을 보인 반면, 정서성은 어느 권태성향과도 유의미한 관련성이 없었다. 본 연구는 상호독립적인 내적/외적 권태성향이 HEXACO 성격모형의 6개 성격요인과 어떤 차별적인 관계를 가지는지 살펴봄으로써 권태성향의 속성에 대한 심리학적 이해를 높였고 향후 권태에 대한 연구가 다각도로 필요함을 시사하였다.

영문 초록

The present study examined which personality traits are vulnerable to boredom by exploring the relationship between 6 factors of boredom proneness and personality (HEXACO model). We collected data from 168 university students and conducted a multiple regression analysis. The analysis showed that extraversion, openness, and conscientiousness were significantly negatively related to internal boredom proneness, with these three factors explaining about 47% of the variance. Honesty/humility, extraversion, and agreeableness were also significantly negatively related to external boredom proneness, explaining about 22% of the variance. Extraversion showed significant relationships with both boredom proneness factors. This study enhances our psychological understanding of the effects of interanal and exteranal boredom proness on the six personality factors of HEXACO model, highlighting the need for future a multidimensional reseach on boredom.
