국문 초록

본 연구는 북한에서 당원, 고위직에 있었던 3명의 남성의 삶에 대한 내러티브 탐구이다. 본 연구에서는 그들의 경험 속에 나타난 탈북의 조건과 남한 사회에서의 정착, 적응의 의미 등을 분석하고 이를 근거로 북한이탈주민들의 남한 사회 적응을 도울 수 있는 논의와 구체적 제언을 하고자 하는 목적에서 출발했다. 연구자들은 Connelly와 Clandinin이 제시한 내러티브 탐구 방식으로 접근했다. 3명의 연구 참여자들로부터 각각 5개의 주제를 도출했다. 연구 참여자들의 주제는 다음과 같다. 이러한 삶의 주제를 수렴할 수 있는 결론은 북한에서의 지위와 경력이 남한 사회 적응에 족쇄가 되어 우리 사회의 주변부에 위치하여 사는 것으로 나타났다. 연구 결과에 근거하여 북한이탈주민들의 새로운 출발과 도전을 위해 북한이탈주민들에 대한 사후지지, 경찰이 수행하고 있는 보호기능을 팀 접근으로의 개편, 사회복지사, 상담심리사, 종교인 등이 팀을 이루어 총체적인 지원을 해야 할 필요가 있음을 제언했다.

영문 초록

This study is a narrative exploration of the lives of three men who were party members and high-ranking officials in North Korea. This study started with the purpose of analyzing the conditions of North Korean defection and the meaning of settlement and adaptation in South Korean society that appeared in their experiences, and based on this, discussions and concrete suggestions that can help North Korean defectors adapt to South Korean society. The researcher approached the narrative inquiry method proposed by Connelly and Clandinin. Five themes were drawn from each of the three study participants. The subjects of the research participants are as follows. The conclusion that can converge on these life themes is that their status and career in North Korea became a shackle to adapt to South Korean society, and they lived on the periphery of our society. Based on the research results, follow-up support for North Korean defectors for a new start and challenge for North Korean defectors, reorganization of the protection function performed by the police into a team approach, social workers, counseling psychologists, religious leaders, etc. suggested the need for support.
