조기발병 치매환자의 사회참여 활성화를 위한 캘리그래피 중심 집단미술치료 사례연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 캘리그래피를 활용한 집단미술치료가 조기발병 치매환자의 사회참여 활성화에 긍정적 변화로 나타나는지 탐색하는데 목적이 있다. 방법 본 연구의 집단미술치료는 S시 N구 소재 치매안심센터를 이용하는 조기발병 치매환자 6명을 대상으로 2023년 7월 31일부터2023년 11월 06일까지 주 1회 90분, 총 11회기로 진행하였다. 집단미술치료 프로그램은 조기발병 치매환자가 스스로 매체를 활용하고 작품을 완성할 수 있도록 교육 및 학습이 이루어졌으며, 이를 토대로 미술작품을 완성하도록 하였다. 연구자료 수집 및 분석은 사전⋅사후 인지선별검사, 한국형 노인 우울척도 검사, DAS 그림검사를 양적 분석, DAS 그림검사의 추가적인 내용 및 인터뷰자료는 질적 분석하였으며, 그림검사는 전문가의 슈퍼비전 하에 연구자 간 교차분석을 하여 결과를 도출하였다. 결과 본 연구를 통한 결과는 첫째, 캘리그래피를 활용한 집단미술치료가 조기발병 치매환자의 인지기능의 향상 및 유지와 우울 감소에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 집단미술치료를 통해 연구 참여자 간 관계 형성 및 상호작용이 이루어졌으며, 이를 통해 연구 참여자들의 사회참여에 대한 인식이 긍정적으로 변화하였다. 결론 본 연구는 캘리그래피를 활용한 집단미술치료가 사회참여로서 조기발병 치매환자의 어려움 해소 및 사회참여 활성화에 미친영향을 확인한 점에서 의의가 있으며, 조기발병 치매환자들의 사회참여 활성화에 도움이 되기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study was to analyze how group art therapy using calligraphy impacts the social engagement activation of early onset dementia patients. Methods The group therapy was conducted for six early-onset dementia patients who were registered at the S Metropolitan Center for Dementia. The program consisted of eleven sessions and ran once a week from July 31, 2023, to November 6, 2023. The group art therapy program involved education and learning in each session to enable early-onset dementia patients to use the medium themselves and complete artworks. Based on this, participants were guided to complete artistic works. The research data were collected and analyzed using pre- and post-data (CIST and SGDS-K), therapist's session evaluations, observation notes, pre- and post-DAS (The Draw-a-Story) drawing test, and in-depth interviews with 2 participants and partners of 3 participants. The results of the in-depth interviews were cross-analyzed and categorized by two researchers under supervision to derive the findings. Results As a result, firstly, most of the patients who participated in the program maintained or developed their cognitive skills and lowered their depression inventory. Second, participants indicated improvement in their social skills and an increase in awareness and experience related to social engagement. Based on the experience of the art therapy group, participants’ showed positive changes in awareness of social engagement Conclusions This study is meaningful in confirming the impact of group art therapy using calligraphy on alleviating difficulties and promoting social engagement in early-onset dementia patients. Therefore, it is expected to contribute to the activation of social engagement for early-onset dementia patients.
