비주얼 싱킹을 활용한 고전 소설 수업이 중학생의 국어 수업에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

목적 본 연구의 목적은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학교 현장에서 학습자들이 국어(고전) 수업에 대해 어떤 인식을 가지고 있는지를 살펴본다. 둘째, 사전검사와 사후검사를 통해 비주얼 싱킹과 연계한 고전 소설 수업이 학습자의 흥미도, 자신감, 태도, 불안도에 미치는 효과에 대해 살펴본다. 셋째, 비주얼 싱킹에 대한 학습자들의 개방형 질문에 대한 응답을 살펴봄으로써 비주얼 싱킹과 연계한 고전 소설 수업이 학습자에게 미치는 효과를 살펴본다. 방법 인천 소재 중학생 165명을 대상으로 비주얼 싱킹 관련 변인을 측정하기 위한 검사를 실시하였다. 활동지와 설문지를 통해 자료를 수집하여 결과를 분석하고자 하였다. 설문지는 전문가(국어과 교수 1인, 교육학박사 1인)의 검토 후 사전검사와 사후검사로 나누어 진행되었으며, 비주얼 싱킹을 활용한 고전 소설 수업에 대한 학생들의 반응을 알아보고자 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문 결과는 SPSS 26.0을 이용해 기술통계 분석하였고, 개방형 문항과 활동지는 내용분석하였다. 분석에 관한 세부적인 내용은 다음과 같다. 프로그램 전과 후의 효과성을 살펴보기 위해 학습자의 사전, 사후검사 결과를 기술통계 비교 분석하였다. 결과 비주얼 싱킹을 활용한 국어 수업 후 학생들을 대상으로 한 설문조사 결과를 종합해 보면 기존의 텍스트 위주의 수업에 비해 비주얼 싱킹을 활용한 수업이 학습자의 흥미도, 자신감, 태도, 불안도의 영역에서 전반적으로 만족도가 높았음을 알 수 있었다. 결론 본 연구는 고전적인 수업 양상의 문제점을 개선하기 위한 대안으로 고전 소설 수업에 비주얼 싱킹을 활용하여 긍정적인 효과를 확인할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is as follows. First, we examine how learners have perceptions of Korean (classical) classes in the school field. Second, we examine the effects of classical fiction classes linked to visual thinking on learners' interest, confidence, attitude, and anxiety through pre-examination and post-examination. Third, by examining learners' responses to open questions about visual thinking, we examine the effect of classical novel classes linked to visual thinking on learners. Methods A test was conducted on 165 middle school students in Incheon to measure variables related to visual thinking. We tried to analyze the results by collecting data through activity papers and questionnaires. The questionnaire was reviewed by experts (one Korean language professor and one Ph.D. in education) and divided into a pre-test and a post-test, and a survey was conducted to find out students' reactions to classical novel classes using visual thinking. The results of the survey were analyzed using SPSS 26.0, and open questions and activity papers were analyzed in content. Details of the analysis are as follows. In order to examine the effectiveness before and after the program, descriptive statistics were compared and analyzed for learners' pre- and post-test results. Results Compiling the results of a survey of students after Korean language classes using visual thinking, it was found that classes using visual thinking were generally more satisfactory in the areas of learners' interest, confidence, attitude, and anxiety than conventional text-oriented classes. Conclusions As an alternative to improving the problems of classical teaching patterns, this study could confirm the positive effect by using visual thinking in classical novel classes.
