환경교육 정책 제안을 위한 교사들의 환경 인식 조사

국문 초록

목적 본 연구의 목적은 교사의 환경교육에 관한 인식을 조사하고, 그 결과를 전라북도 환경교육 정책 수립을 위한 기초자료로 활용하기 위해서이다. 방법 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 환경교육연구회 소속 교사 4인과 설문 문항을 제작하였고, 온라인 설문조사 방식으로 환경문제와 환경교육에 관한 전반적인 인식과 교육청의 지원 정책에 관해 조사하였다. 결과 교사들은 환경문제와 환경교육에 관심이 매우 높으며 환경교육을 위한 별도의 지도계획을 세우지 않고 교과 수업과 학교생활을 통해 통합적으로 실시하고 있었다. 또한 교육청의 환경교육에 대한 지원이 부족하다고 인식하였으며, 지원 방법으로는 프로그램 개발 및 보급, 교원 연수를 선호하였다. 결론 조사 결과를 토대로 교육청에서 지원해야 하는 환경교육 정책으로 다음과 같이 제안하고자 한다. 첫째, 환경교육에 활용할 수 있는 다양한 프로그램을 개발하고 쉽게 접근할 수 있는 플랫폼을 구축해야 한다. 둘째, 교사의 요구를 반영한 환경교육의 연수 내용, 방식, 장소, 기회를 제공해야 한다. 셋째, 일상적인 실천으로 이어지는 환경을 조성해야 한다. 본 연구는 정책입안자의 관점이 아닌 실제 정책의 수행자인 교사의 요구를 확인했다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 이제는 이러한 제안이 정책적으로 실행되도록 다음 단계를 준비해야 한다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to investigate teachers' perceptions of environmental education and to use the results as basic data for establishing environmental education policies in Jeollabuk-do. Methods To achieve this purpose, a questionnaire was prepared with 4 teachers belonging to the Environmental Education Research Community. The survey was conducted online. The contents of the survey are about environmental issues, overall perceptions of environmental education, and education policies. Results As a result of the survey, teachers are highly interested in environmental issues and environmental education, and at the same time, teachers used to teach environmental education integrated with school life rather than establishing a separate guidance plan. Teachers recognized that the support for environmental education was insufficient, and preferred methods of support such as program development and dissemination and expansion of teacher training as a support of The Office of Education. Conclusions Based on the results, we would like to suggest the environmental education policies that the Office of Education should support. First, it is necessary to develop a variety of programs that can be used for environmental education and build an easily accessible platform. Second, training contents, methods, places, and opportunities for environmental education that reflect the needs of teachers should be provided. Third, it is necessary to create an environment that leads to daily practice. This study is meaningful in that it confirmed the needs of teachers, who are actually implementing policies, not from the point of view of policymakers. Now is the time to prepare for the next step to put the proposal into action as a policy.
