리좀적 관점에서 바라본 유아들의 바깥놀이

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 바깥놀이에서의 경험과 배움의 과정을 리좀적 관점에서 살펴보고, 리좀 지도를 통해 나타내 보고자 한다. 그리고 이를 통해 바깥놀이의 진정한 가치와 놀이의 양상을 확인하고 현장에서 표피적인 가치로만 인식되는 바깥놀이에 대해 새로운 시사점을 제공하고자 한다. 방법 이를 위하여 B시에 위치한 A유치원의 만 5세반 유아 52명을 대상으로 참여관찰과 시각적 연구방법을 진행하였으며, 참여관찰과 시각적 연구방법에서 파악하기 어려운 유아들의 놀이 전후 상황과 긴밀한 관계 파악을 위해 반구조화된 면담을 함께 진행하였다. 참여관찰과 시각적 연구방법, 면담을 통해 수집된 자료들의 분석은 김영천(2016)이 제시한 실용적 절충주의에 기초한 포괄적 분석절차에 따라 진행되었으며, Lincoln과 Guba의 ‘신뢰성’ 준거(1985)를 통해 타당도를 확보하였다. 결과 비 오는 날 산책길에서 달팽이와의 우연한 마주침으로 시작된 유아들의 놀이는 끊임없는 연결과 접속을 통해 생성되었다. 달팽이와 우연한 마주침으로 생성된 유아들의 놀이는 우연한 마주침, 우연의 유희, 연결과 접속 그리고 의미생성, 배움의 장으로 들어서기, 위치를 벗어나 함께 배우기, 새롭게, 그리고 한계 없이 사유하기로 범주화되었다. 유아들은 연결과 접속을 통해 생성된 놀이에서 영토화를 거부하고, 지금까지와는 다른 배치와 욕망을 추구하며 탈영토화를 시도하는 유목민으로 존재하였다. 그로 인해 유아들의 바깥놀이는 시작과 끝이 존재하지 않았으며, 땅속으로 수없이 파고들고 뻗어 가는 뿌리와 같이 비선형적이고 리좀적 특성을 지니고 있었다. 결론 리좀의 특징을 지닌 유아들의 바깥놀이는 하나의 중심에 귀착되어진 수목형 관점으론 이해될 수 없으므로, 연결과 접속에 따라 정형화되지 않고 변화하는 리좀적 관점을 통해 바라보기 위한 교사와 성인들의 관점 변화가 필요하다. 그리고 유아들은 놀이공간과 시간, 놀이방법 등에 변주와 탈주의 가능성을 열어 두었을 때 비로소 놀이주체자로서 세계와 만나고 사유하며 배움을 생성해 갈 수 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives This article aims at reviewing the processes of experiences and learning in outdoor plays with a rhizomatic perspective, drawing them through a rhizomatic map, confirming authentic values of outdoor plays and their apsects, and making new suggestions for outdoor plays which have been recognized as superficial values on site. Methods For this, participatory observation and visual research methods were applied to 52 five-year-old young children of A Kindergarten in B city. And in order to figure out before and after the plays of the children, who cannot be figured out easily by participatory observation and visual research method, and their close relationships, semi-structured interviews were also conducted. The collected data through participatory observation, visual research method, and interviews were analyzed according to the inclusive analytic procedures based on the Pragmatic Eclecticism suggested by Young-cheon Kim(2016) and the validity was secured through the evidence of the ‘Credibility’ of Lincoln and Guba(1985). Results Young children’s outdoor plays starting from an accidental encounter with snails on the way to walk on a rainy day were created through endless connections and contacts. Their plays created by an accidental encounter with snails were categorized into an accidental encounter, recreation by chance, connections and connects, creating meaning, entering into the site of learning, dislocating and learning together, and thinking newly and without limit. Young children exist as nomads who reject territorialization, pursue new arrangements and desires which are different from the present time and try deterritorialization. Therefore, young children’s outdoor plays have neither start nor end and show non-linear and rhizomatic characteristics like roots digging into and stretching out underground endlessly. Conclusions Young children’s outdoor plays with the rhizomatic characteristics could not be understood with a tree-type perspective concluded with a center and they require teachers and adults to change their perspectives to the rhizomatic one which is not fixed but changing. And young children can meet the world, think and create learning as actors in plays when they have possibilities of changes and dislocation in play venue, time, play methods, etc.
