고교학점제 운영 과정에서 고교 교사들이 겪은 어려움에 대한 인식과 역할 내용 탐색

국문 초록

목적 고교학점제의 성공적인 현장 도입 및 정착을 위해서는 고교학점제 운영과 관련된 교사의 역할 확장과 전문성 확보가 중요하다고 볼 수 있다. 이를 위해서 본 연구에서는 고교 교사들이 고교학점제 운영 과정에서 겪은 실제적인 어려움의 내용을 살펴보고, 이를 바탕으로 교사들에게 새롭게 요구되는 역할 수행 내용을 도출하고자 하였다. 방법 이를 위하여 고교학점제 운영 경험이 있는 교사들이 ‘학교 문화 형성’, ‘교육과정 편성 및 운영’, ‘진로 및 학업 설계 지도’, ‘학교 공간 조성 및 관련 부서 지원’ 등의 측면에서 겪은 어려움의 내용을 심층 집단 면접을 통해 내용 분석(content analysis)을 하였다. 그런 다음, 앞으로 고교학점제를 운영해야 할 현장 교사들에게 요구되는 역할 내용을 살펴보았다. 결과 분석 결과, 교사들에게는 고교학점제 운영에 적합한 학교 문화 형성 및 운영 체제 구축⋅지원과 관련된 역할 수행 능력이 요구됨을 알 수 있었다. 또한 고교학점제 운영 과정에서 학생선택형 교육과정의 편성 및 운영이 핵심이기 때문에, 교사들에게는 학생들이 필요로 하는 교육체제를 마련하고 운영해 낼 수 있는 역할 수행 능력 확보가 필수적임을 확인할 수 있었다. 마지막으로 교사들에게는 적성과 진로에 맞게 학생들 스스로 학업을 설계하고 수행하도록 지원해주는 역할 수행 능력이 전문적 수준에서 요구됨을 알 수 있었다. 결론 향후 교사들의 전문성 확보와 역량 향상을 위한 다양한 행정적 지원을 마련하는 데 있어 본 연구에서 도출된 고교학점제 운영에 필수적으로 요구되는 교사의 역할 내용에 대한 이해가 도움을 줄 것으로 기대한다.

영문 초록

Objectives For the successful introduction and settlement of the high school credit system, it is important to expand the role of teachers related to the operation of the high school credit system and secure expertise. To this end, it is necessary to examine the actual difficulties experienced by high school teachers in the process of operating the high school credit system and derive the new role performance required by teachers based on this. Methods Therefore, in this study, the difficulties experienced by teachers with experience in operating the high school credit system in terms of ‘formation of school culture’, ‘curriculum organization and operation’, ‘career and academic design guidance’, ‘school designs and support for related departments’, etc. were analyzed through focus group interviews. Then, we looked at the role of field teachers who are to operate the high school credit system in the future. Results As a result of the analysis, it was found that teachers were required to have the ability to perform roles related to the formation of a school culture suitable for the operation of the high school credit system and the establishment⋅support of the operating system. In addition, since the organization and operation of the student-selective curriculum is the core of the high school credit system operation process, it was confirmed that it was essential for teachers to secure the role performance ability to prepare and operate the educational system that students need. Finally, it was found that teachers were required at a professional level to have the ability to perform roles that support students to design and perform their own studies according to their aptitude and career path. Conclusions In the future, it is expected that understanding of the role of teachers essential for the operation of the high school credit system derived in this study will be helpful in providing various administrative support to secure teachers' expertise and improve their capabilities.
