퇴직한 교육행정직 공무원의 생애사 연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 학교라는 조직에서 수십 년을 근무하다가 퇴직한 교육행정직 공무원의 개인적이고 직업적인 삶의 과정은 어떠했는지, 그런 삶의 과정들은 퇴직 후의 삶에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지, 그와 더불어 퇴직 이후의 삶을 어떻게 준비하여 살아가고 있는지에 대해 이해하기 위한 연구이다. 이를 통해 교육 목적을 달성하기 위한 동반자로 교육행정직 공무원을 인식하는 계기를 마련하고자 하며, 100세 시대를 살아가는 우리의 삶에 대한 이론적이고 실천적인 함의를 얻고자 하는데 그 목적이 있다. 방법 이를 위하여 생애사 연구 방법을 활용하였다. 생애사 연구 방법은 한 개인의 삶의 과정에서의 내적 역동과 생애 변화를 과거, 현재, 미래라는 시간의 축 위에서 살펴봄으로써 시간의 연속성 안에서 이루어지는 삶의 전환과 적응과정을 이해하기에 좋은 연구 방법이다. 본 연구에서는 2019년 6월 30일 자로 정년퇴직한 김 실장의 구술을 듣고, 그의 삶의 과정에서 이루어진 생애 경험을 사회문화적이고 역사적인 맥락과 연결시켜 특정한 경험과 사건, 그리고 적응에 대한 의미를 해석하였다. 결과 김 실장은 평생을 그의 어머니와 아내와의 약속을 지키기 위해 살았고, 개인적이고 직업적인 삶을 충실히 이행해 냈기에 그의 삶에 후회는 없었으며, 예기치 못했던 사건으로 인해 비록 퇴직 훈장을 받지 못한 채 공직을 떠나왔지만, 연금을 받을 수 있다는 것을 매우 감사해하고 있다. 김 실장은 선산(先山)으로 돌아가 나무를 키우며 한운야학(閑雲野鶴)처럼 유유자적하는 삶을 살고 싶어 하지만, 그에 대한 사전지식의 부족, 쇠잔해지는 몸, ‘코로나’라는 악재로 인해 그 꿈의 실행을 보류할 수밖에 없었고, 길어진 시간을 무료하지 않게 보낼 방편으로 노인 일자리를 구해 두 번째 삶을 살고 있다. 결론 본 연구를 통해 퇴직 후의 삶이 만족한 삶이 되기 위해서는 먼저 건강한 몸을 지녀야 하고, 본인이 요차불피(樂此不疲)할 수 있는 일을 스스로 찾아야 하며, 조직에서는 퇴직예정자가 그 일을 찾을 수 있도록 퇴직 후의 갖가지 진로를 모아놓은 장(場)을 열어줄 필요가 있다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study is to understand what the personal and professional life course of education administrative officials who retired after working for decades in an organization called school, how those life course affect life after retirement, and how they prepare for life after retirement. Through this, the purpose is to provide an opportunity to recognize educational administrative officials as partners to achieve educational purposes, and to obtain theoretical and practical implications for our lives living in the age of 100. Methods To this end, a life history research method was used. The life history research method is a good research method to understand the life transition and adaptation course in the continuity of time by examining the internal dynamics and life changes in an individual's life course on the axis of time of the past, present, and future. In this study, we listened to Administration manager Kim's oral speech, who retired on June 30, 2019, and interpreted the meaning of specific experiences, events, and adaptations by connecting his life experiences in the course of life with socio-cultural and historical contexts. Results Administration manager Kim has lived his whole life to keep his promises to his mother and wife, and since he faithfully fulfilled his personal and professional life, he has no regrets in his life, and is very grateful that he can receive a pension, although he has left office without receiving a retirement medal due to unexpected events. Kim wants to return to the “Mountain with Ancestors' Tomb” and grow trees and live a free life like “Wandering Clouds and Wild Cranes,” but his lack of prior knowledge, declining body, and bad news of “COVID-19” forced him to put his dream on hold. He is living his second life by finding a job for the elderly as a way to spend a long time without being bored. Conclusions In order for a life after retirement to be satisfactory life, you must first have a healthy body, find yourself a work that will not tire you out no matter how hard you work, and the organization needs to open up a yard that collects various careers after retirement so that those who are scheduled to retire can find the work.
