영어 단어 학습법 효과 검증 단순암기법

국문 초록

본 연구는 영어 학습자들이 단순 암기법, 핵심어 기법, 이미지텔링법을 적용하여 학습할 때, 각 학습법의 스트레스 정도, 기억 효능감, 학습 자신감 같은 심리적 요인 간의 상관관계 등을 규명하기 위하여수행되었다. 120명의 대학생, 대학원생의 설문조사에서 얻어진 데이터를 바탕으로 각 요인에 대한 분석을 행하였다. 연구결과, 이미지텔링법이 단순 암기법보다 회상 기억이 더 우세한 경향을 나타냈다. 세가지 어휘 학습법에 따라 학습 스트레스, 기억 효능감, 학습 자신감에서 대부분 유의미한 차이를 나타내었다. 각 학습법의 스트레스, 기억 효능감, 학습 자신감 관계를 살펴보면, 이미지텔링법과 핵심어 기법으로 학습할 때 스트레스는 적고 기억 효능감과 학습 자신감은 높게 나타나는 양상을 보였다. 반면, 단순 암기법으로 학습할 때는 다른 두 학습법에 비해 스트레스가 높고 이에 따라 기억 효능감과 학습자신감도 더 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통하여 이미지와 스토리텔링 콘텐츠가 영어 어휘 학습에서 스트레스를 해소하고 기억과 자신감을 향상시킬 수 있음을 시사하였다.

영문 초록

We conducted a study to investigate a correlation between psychological factors such as stress level, memory efficacy, and learning confidence in learning methods on simple memorization(SM), keyword methods(KW), and visual storytelling(VS). Based on the data obtained from a survey conducted on 120 undergraduate and graduate students, we proceeded much analysis over each and every factor between the methods. As a result, VS showed superiority over SM. The three methods showed significant differences in learning stress, memory efficacy, and learning confidence in memory methods. What has been revealed about the relationship between them is that VS showed relatively low-stress levels and high memory efficacy and learning confidence. However, SM expressed a higher stress level than the other two learning methods as the memory efficacy and learning confidence were lower in SM. Through this study, we concluded that image and storytelling contents could relieve much stress on students and improve memory efficiency and learning confidence in learning methods on various new vocabulary.
