경상남도 창원시 공공미술 조각작품의 손상 현황과 보존 방안

국문 초록

공공미술 조각작품은 문화 향유와 지역 환경을 반영한 미술 활동의 결과물로 평가된다. 하지만 야외 환경에 설치된 작품은 여러 가지 원인으로 손상이 발생하여 보존 방안이 필요하다. 이 연구에서는 창원시마산조각공원의 조각작품을 대상으로 손상 상태에 관한 정량적 평가를 진행하고 보존처리 방안을 살펴보고자 한다. 손상도 평가 결과, 조각품은 생물 서식, 반달리즘, 변색, 부식 등 복합 양상으로 전체 면적 대비 생물 피도 144%, 화학적 원인 736%, 물리적 파손 96%의 손상률을 보인다. 이러한 손상은작품의 원형 변화, 미적 가치, 내구성 저하 등 직간접적 영향 가능성을 내포하고 있다. 이 연구를 바탕으로 보존과정에서는 세척처리를 통해 생물 종, 금속 산화물, 변색의 오염도를 저감 시키고 물리적 파손은 접합처리로 손상 상태를 최소화할 수 있다. 한편 마산조각공원 작품 보존은 시민과 관리자의 작품보존관리 인식 전환뿐만 아니라 예방 보존을 위한 지속적인 모니터링과 체계적인 관리가 요구된다.

영문 초록

Public arts Sculpture is regarded as a result of art activities, reflecting the purpose of cultural enjoyment and local environment. On the other hand, as sculpture located in outdoor environment damaged by various caused, an appropriate methods are needed. The aim of research is to consider the damage condition and conservation method of public arts sculpture in masan sculpture park. As a result of damage assessment, biological damage indicated 144%, chemical damage 736% and physical damage 96% because of complex pattern of damage condition such as biological form, vandalism, discoloration and metal corrosion. This damage presents the possibility of direct or indirect influences including change in the original form of a work and deterioration of aesthetic value and material durability. By doing this, organisms, metal corrosion, discoloration and physical damage could be minimized by cleaning and bonding in the process of conservation treatment. However, as the sculpture situated in the outdoor environment, not only a change in perception of conservation by citizen and manager, but also continuous monitoring and systematic management are required.
