토론학습 기반 생명윤리 교육이 간호대학생의 도덕적 자아개념과 윤리적 민감성에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 간호대학생을 대상으로 토론학습 기반 생명윤리 교육이 간호대학생의 도덕적 자아개념과 윤리적 민감성에 미치는 효과를 규명하기 위한 단일군 사전사후 설계(one-group pretest-posttest design)의 유사실험 연구이다. 방법 이를 위하여 충남 소재 일 대학 간호학과의 ‘생명윤리와 철학’ 전공기초 교과목을 수강한 1학년 간호대학생을 임의표출하였다. 본 연구의 자료수집 기간은 2023년 9월 4일부터 12월 22일까지였으며, 사전조사, 중재, 사후조사의 순서로 진행되었다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS WIN 20.0 프로그램을 이용하여 다음과 같이 분석하였다. 첫째, 대상자의 일반적 특성은 실수, 백분율, 평균과 표준편차의 기술통계로 분석하였다. 둘째, 도덕적 자아개념, 윤리적 민감성은 기술통계를 활용하여 평균과 표준편차를 산출하였다. 셋째, 연구가설 검증을 위해 사전⋅사후 점수는 kolmogorov-Smirrove test로 정규성을 검토하였다. 넷째, 토론학습의 효과성 검증은 Paired t-test로 분석하였다. 다섯째, 도구의 신뢰도 검정은 Cronbach's α 값을 산출하였다. 결과 토론학습 기반 생명윤리교육 전⋅후 도덕적 자아개념은, 교육 전 5점 만점에 3.30±.20점에서 교육 후 3.79±.49점으로 통계적으로 유의한 증가를 보였다(t=-6.717, p<.001). 윤리적 민감성도 교육 전 4.39±.46점에서 교육 후 4.59±.46점으로 통계적으로 유의한 증가를 보였다(t=-2.171, p<.05). 결론 토론학습 기반 생명윤리 교육은 간호대학생의 도덕적 자아개념과 윤리적 민감성을 향상시키는데 효과적임을 확인할 수 있었다. 간호대학생이 전문직 환경에서 직면할 수 있는 다양한 윤리적 문제를 효과적으로 해결하기 위해 후속 연구에서는 대상자를 확대하고 대조군을 설정한 실험연구 설계를 통해 토론학습 기반 생명윤리 교육의 효과성을 검증하는 연구가 이루어져야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study is a quasi-experimental study with a one-group pretest-posttest design to investigate the effect of discussion-based bioethics education on the moral self-concept and ethical sensitivity of nursing students. Methods For this purpose, first-year nursing students who took the basic major course ‘Bioethics and Philosophy’ in the nursing department of a university located in Chungnam were randomly selected. The data collection period for this study was from September 4 to December 22, 2023, and it was conducted in the order of pre-survey, intervention, and post-survey. The collected data were analyzed as follows using the SPSS WIN 20.0 program: First, the general characteristics of the participants were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. Second, the moral self-concept and ethical sensitivity were assessed by calculating the mean and standard deviation using descriptive statistics. Third, to verify the research hypotheses, the normality of the pretest and posttest scores was examined using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. Fourth, the effectiveness of discussion-based learning was analyzed using a paired t-test. Fifth, the reliability of the instruments was tested by calculating Cronbach's α values. Results Before and after the discussion-based bioethics education, the moral self-concept showed a statistically significant increase, from 3.30±.20 points before the education to 3.79±.49 points after the education on a 5-point scale (t=-6.717, p<.001). Ethical sensitivity also showed a statistically significant increase, from 4.39±.46 points before the education to 4.59±.46 points after the education (t=-2.171, p<.05). Conclusions Conclusion: It was confirmed that discussion-based bioethics education is effective in improving the moral self-concept and ethical sensitivity of nursing students. To effectively address various ethical issues that nursing students may face in professional environments, future studies should expand the sample size and employ experimental research designs with control groups to verify the effectiveness of discussion-based bioethics education.
