중도입국 초등학생의 문화적응 스트레스, 한국어능력 및 학교적응의 종단적 관계 분석

국문 초록

목적 본 연구의 목적은 중도입국 초등학생의 문화적응 스트레스, 한국어능력, 학교적응 사이의 종단적 관계를 파악하는 것이다. 방법 이를 위하여 다문화청소년패널조사 2기 패널의 1차년도(2019년)부터 3차년도(2021년)까지 3년간의 자료 중 연구변인에 모두 응답한 중도입국 청소년 327명의 자료를 자기회귀교차지연모형(Autoregressive Cross-lagged Model)으로 분석하였다. 결과 분석결과, 문화적응 스트레스, 한국어능력, 학교적응 등 모든 잠재변인은 모든 시점에서의 자기회귀효과가 유의미하게 나타났다. 또한, 교차지연효과는 모든 시점에서 동일한 방향으로 나타났으나 변인에 따라 다른 결과가 도출되었다. 구체적으로, 문화적응 스트레스는 다음 시점의 한국어능력과 학교적응에 모두 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 한국어능력은 다음 시점의 문화적응 스트레스에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤으나, 학교적응에는 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않았다. 학교적응은 다음 시점의 문화적응 스트레스와 한국어능력에 모두 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 결론 본 연구결과를 선행연구와 관련지어 논의한 후 이론적, 실제적 시사점을 도출하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to examine the longitudinal relationships among acculturative stress, Korean proficiency, and school adjustment in immigrant elementary school students. Methods To this end, we analyzed the data from 2019(1st) to 2021(3rd) of 327 immigrant elementary school panel of Multicultural Adolescents Panel Study (the 2nd term) using autoregressive cross-lagged modeling. Results The findings are as follows: All latent variables including acculturative stress, Korean proficiency, and school adjustment showed significant autoregressive effects across all time points. Additionally, cross-lagged effects consistently exhibited in the same direction across all points, but yielded different findings depending on the variables. Specifically, acculturative stress significantly impacted both Korean proficiency and school adjustment at the subsequent two time points. Across the next two points, Korean proficiency had significant influences on acculturative stress, but not school adjustment. School adjustment significantly influenced both acculturative stress and Korean language proficiency at the subsequent two points. Conclusions We discuss the findings of this study in relation to previous studies and then draw theoretical and practical implications.
