국내외 교육 커먼즈 연구에 관한 체계적 문헌고찰

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 국내외 교육 커먼즈 연구의 논의 지형을 파악함으로써 교육 커먼즈 가치를 발견하고 그 적용 가능성을 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 방법 이를 위하여 국내외 교육 커먼즈 관련 연구 28편(국내 논문 5편, 국외 논문 23편)을 대상으로 체계적 문헌 고찰을 실시하였다. 자료 수집을 위해 한국교육학술정보원 학술연구정보서비스 RISS를 포함한 KISS, SCHOLA, eArticle, DBpia, 대학 도서관 국내외 DB, 구글 스칼라에서 2024년 1월 19일부터 2024년 1월 26일까지 2회에 걸쳐 교육과 커먼즈 키워드를 다양하게 조합하여 검색하였다. 최종 선정된 문헌을 대상으로 계획, 선별, 추출, 수행과정을 거쳤으며 SPSS 18을 활용해 빈도분석을 실시하였다. 결과 2008년부터 2018년까지는 연구가 미미했으나 2019년부터 증가, 2023년에는 가장 많은 연구가 수행되어 관련 논의가 촉발되고 있다. 모든 연구가 자본주의 및 신자유주의 교육체제에 대한 문제의식을 바탕으로 교육 커먼즈를 대안적 교육 틀로 제안했으며, 연구 방법은 문헌 고찰, 사례 연구 순으로 많았다. 주제별 경향은 교육 체제 관련 논의가 교육 커먼즈를 둘러싼 핵심 논쟁으로 나타났으며, 환경 교육, 시민 교육 등 다양한 교육 영역에서 교육 커먼즈에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있다. 또한 초중고를 넘어 미취학 아동부터 일반 성인까지 폭넓게 다룸으로써 학교를 넘어 사회적 맥락으로 교육 커먼즈 논의가 확장되고 있다. 결론 교육 커먼즈는 포스트 코로나 시대의 새로운 교육을 상상하고 실현하기 위해 필수적으로 논의되어야 할 개념임을 확인하였다. 하지만 교육 커먼즈 논의를 양적, 질적으로 향상시키기 위해서 1) 교육 커먼즈 개념을 어디까지로 볼 것인가에 대한 학문적 합의가 요구되며 2) 보다 본질적 차원에서의 교육 커먼즈 논의 및 3) 디지털 기반 사회라는 시대적 맥락을 고려한 교육 커먼즈 논의 또한 필요하다. 향후 국내 실정에 맞는 구체적이고 실천적인 교육 커먼즈 연구가 양적, 질적으로 축적될 필요가 있음을 제언하는 바이다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study aims to identify the landscape of discussions on educational commons in domestic and international research, discover the value of educational commons, and explore its applicability. Methods A systematic literature review was conducted on 28 studies related to educational commons (5 domestic and 23 international). For data collection, various combinations of the keywords “education” and “commons” were searched on academic databases, including RISS, KISS, SCHOLA, eArticle, DBpia, domestic and international university libraries' databases, and Google Scholar. The searches were conducted twice between January 19, 2024, and January 26, 2024. The final selected literature underwent a process of planning, screening, extraction, and implementation, with frequency analysis conducted using SPSS 18. Results Research was minimal from 2008 to 2018 but increased from 2019, with the most studies conducted in 2023, sparking related discussions. All studies proposed educational commons as an alternative educational framework based on concerns about capitalist and neoliberal educational systems. The most common research methods were literature reviews and case studies. The main trend was that discussions on educational systems emerged as a key debate surrounding educational commons. Interest in educational commons is growing in various fields, such as environmental and civic education. Additionally, the discourse on educational commons is expanding beyond schools to broader social contexts, covering from preschool children to adults. Conclusions Educational commons is confirmed to be a crucial concept for reimagining and realizing new education in the post-COVID era. However, to enhance both the quantity and quality of discourse on educational commons, it is necessary to 1) reach an academic consensus on the scope of the concept of educational commons, 2) engage in more fundamental discussions on educational commons, and 3) consider the discourse within the context of a digital-based society. It is suggested that future research on educational commons suitable for domestic circumstances should accumulate both quantitatively and qualitatively.
