뉴스 기사 빅데이터 분석을 통한 북한이탈주민의 사회적 이슈와 언어 문제 탐색: 2019-2024

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 북한이탈주민 관련 뉴스 기사에 나타난 사회적 이슈와 언어 문제를 탐색하고 그 시사점을 제언하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 방법 분석 대상은 2019년 1월부터 2024년 6월까지 국내 주요 신문사와 언론사의 북한이탈주민 관련 뉴스 기사 561개를 수집하였다. 분석 도구는 언어 네트워크 분석과 토픽모델링 분석 기법을 활용하여 주요 핵심어와 주제를 분석하고 이를 시각화하였다. 또한 분석 결과를 바탕으로 북한이탈주민의 사회적 이슈와 언어 문제를 탐색하고 이에 대한 한국어교육적 시사점을 제시하였다. 결과 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 최근 3년간 뉴스 보도량이 큰 폭으로 증가하는 추세이며, 정치 관련 기사가 압도적으로 높은 비중을 나타냈다. 둘째, 주요 핵심어는 ‘정부, 지원, 인권, 보호, 정착’ 등이다. 주요 주제는 북한이탈주민의 인권 보호, 엘리트와 2030세대의 탈북 증가, 한국 정착 과정에서 정신적, 경제적인 차별과 편견으로 어려움을 호소하는 내용 등으로 나타났다. 이에 대한 정부의 통합적인 지원 정책에 관한 내용이 높은 비중을 차지했다. 셋째, 남북한 언어 차이로 어려움을 겪고 있으며, 영역별로는 발음과 억양, 어휘 중심의 한국어교육이 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 결론 뉴스 기사의 주요 주제는 북한이탈주민의 인권 보호와 안정적인 정착을 위한 통합적 지원에 관한 내용으로 나타났다. 그러나 북한이탈주민은 경제적, 심리적, 정서적, 언어적 차이의 어려움을 호소하고 있지만 이에 대한 주제는 언론에서 거의 다뤄지지 않았다. 이에 본고는 북한이탈주민의 언어 적응을 위한 한국어교육 연구의 필요성과 시사점을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to explore social issues and language problems that appear in news articles related to North Korean defectors and to suggest their implications. Methods 561 news articles related to North Korean defectors covered by major domestic newspapers and media companies from 2019 to June 2024 were collected. For analysis tools, language network analysis and topic modeling techniques were used to analyze major keywords and topics and visualize them. In addition, based on the analysis results, social issues and language problems of North Korean defectors were explored, and Korean language education implications were presented. Results he research results are as follows. First, the amount of news coverage has been increasing significantly over the past three years, and political articles have shown an overwhelmingly high proportion. Second, the main keywords are ‘government, support, human rights, protection, and settlement’. The main topics were protection of human rights of North Korean defectors, increasing number of North Korean defectors among elites and the 2030 generation, and complaints of difficulties due to mental and economic discrimination and prejudice in the process of settling in Korea. The content of the government's integrated support policy accounted for a high proportion. Third, it was found that North Korean defectors were struggling with the language difference between North and South Korea, and Korean language education focusing on pronunciation, accent, and vocabulary in each area was necessary for them. Conclusions The main topic of the news article was the integrated support for the protection of human rights and stable settlement of North Korean defectors. However, although North Korean defectors complain of ‘difficulty’ due to economic, psychological, emotional, and linguistic differences, these related topics are hardly covered in the media. Therefore, this paper suggested implications for Korean language education research for North Korean defectors' language adaptation.
