국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 경기도 노인의 연령대, 시기별 여가시간이 어떠한 차이를 보이는지를 실증 분석함으로써향후 노인여가에 대한 학술적, 실천적 방향성을 제시하는 것이다. 이를 위해 1999년, 2004년, 2009년, 2014 년, 2019년의 통계청 생활시간조사 자료를 활용하여 65세 이상 경기도 노인의 여가시간 변화 및 특성별 차이를 기술통계와 토빗모형으로 분석했다. 연령대, 연도에 따른 여가시간 차이를 알아보기 위한 토빗모형 분석에서는 주중과 주말의 요일로 각각 구성하고, 종속변수인 여가시간은 전체뿐만 아니라 교제 및 참여, 문화및 관광, 미디어 이용, 스포츠, 기타의 내용별로 세분화했다. 분석 결과, 후기노인의 주말 여가시간이 길었고, 상대적으로 전기노인의 주중 여가시간이 짧아서 노년기 내에서도 연령대, 요일별 차이가 있었다. 연도별로봤을 때는 1999년에 비해 최근 들어 대체로 교제 및 참여, 기타 여가시간은 줄어들고, 반대로 미디어 이용, 스포츠 여가시간은 늘어나는 등 여가시간의 내용, 요일에 따른 차이가 복잡한 양상으로 나타났다. 이러한 분석 결과는 연령대, 시기에 따라서 다변화되는 노인의 여가시간을 앞으로도 후속연구로 모니터링하고, 다양화되는 노인의 여가 욕구와 활동에 맞춤형으로 사회적 지원이 이루어져야 한다는 시사점을 준다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to provide academic and practical directions for leisure life in later life by empirically analyzing the differences in leisure time by age and period of the older adults in Gyeonggi province. Using the life time survey data of the National Statistical Office in 1999, 2004, 2009, 2014, and 2019, we examined the changes in leisure time and differences by characteristics of the older adults over 65 in Gyeonggi province. The Tobit analysis model to examine the difference in leisure time by age group and period was divided into weekdays and weekends, respectively. The dependent variables, leisure activities, were also subdivided into total, socialization and participation, culture and tourism, media use, sports, and others. The analysis results show that the weekend leisure time of older elderly over 75 years old is long, and the weekday leisure time of young elderly under the aged of 75 is relatively short. In recent years compared to the past, socialization and participating, and other leisure time have decreased, while media use and leisure time for sports have increased. These analysis results report the fact that the difference in leisure time between weekdays and weekends is complicated by age group and period of the older adults. Therefore, these results suggest that future studies should monitor the diversified leisure time of the older adults, and that social supports need to respond appropriately to their rapidly changing leisure needs and activities.
