영화 <소리도 없이> 속 가면과 분장 역할에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 광범위한 사회적 문제를 포괄하여 서사적인 전개로 가면과 분장의 활용을 탐색할 수 있는 영화 <소리도 없이>를 연구 주제의 대상으로 선정하였으며, 가면과 분장 속에 내재된 의미의 도출과 분석을 위해 Masahiro의 ‘불쾌한 골짜기’의 개념과 Saussure의 기호학, 그리고 Freud의 정신분석학적 개념 이론을 적용하였다. 연구의 결과로, ‘가면’을 통해 여자 주인공 초희의 내재적 성격과 외재적성격에서의 의미를 도출하였으며, 초희라는 등장인물의 전반적 이미지를 구체적으로 표현하였다. 그리고 ‘분장’을 통해 남자 주인공 태인의 내재적 성격의 변화와 흐름을 파악하였으며, 외적으로는 세상에대한 희망의 의미를 새로운 관점에서 도출하였다. 또한, 사회주의 측면에서 관련된 문제의 의미를 탐색하여 영화 속에서 투영된 계급 차별, 빈부 격차, 남존여비 등 다양한 양상으로 나타나는 사회적 문제들을 확인하여 제시하였다.

영문 초록

Purpose the present study attempted to explore the movie as a research topic with the coverage of extensive social issues, and explores how masks and make-up are used in the film. The researcher adopted Masashiro’s Uncanny Valley, Semiotics from Saussure, and Fred’s psychoanalysis to analyze implicit meanings derived from masks and make-up. This paper showed that masks help elicit the inherent and explicit characteristics of Cho-hee, a leading actress in the Movie. This character depicts a detailed and overall image of the protagonist. In addition, make-up displays how the implicit personality of the main actor, Tae-in, has changed. It helps us understand the direction of Tae-in's inner. On the surface, the meaning of hope for the world was derived from a new perspective. Moreover, the research explores social issues associated with socialism in multiple ways to identify and demonstrate class discrimination, the gap between the rich and the poor, and the predominance of men over women shown in the Movie.
