이청준의 ｢가수(假睡)｣에 나타난 타자 재현 양상 연구

국문 초록

이청준의 ｢가수｣가 자리한 위치는 4·19의 민주화 혁명과 5.16의 군사 정변이라는 역사적 사건이, 채 1 년이 안 되는 시간 차를 두고 희망과 좌절을 경험케 한 시기이다. 이러한 시기에 개인은 주체가 아닌타자로 자리매김 된다. 5. 이러한 주체-타자의 관계에서 발생하는 폭력적 성격을 이청준은 타자를 재현함으로써 폭로한다. ｢가수｣에서 ‘익명적 존재’로서 타자의 재현은 관련 인물의 증언을 통해서 제시된다. 익명적 존재로서두 주영훈이 재현 되는 위치는 증언자들의 상상적 동일시 속에서다. 이청준은 익명적 존재의 홀로서기가 금제된 폭력적 상황을 텍스트 전반을 지배하는 암울한 분위기와 의사소통의 단절로 드러낸다. 그리고 다시 주체가 홀로서기 위한 대안으로 대화적 관계에서 이루어지는 의사소통에서 찾는다. 이러한 작가적 대안은 ｢가수｣의 서술 전략에서도 드러난다. 액자 형식에 복합·다층적 서술 상황으로 타자에 대한입체적 시각을 보여줌으로써 타자에 대한 폭력적 재단을 지양하게 한다.

영문 초록

The location of Lee Cheong-joon's “Gasoo” is a time when the historical events of the April 19 democratic revolution and the military coup of May 16 led to hope and frustration with a time difference of less than a year. In this period, individuals are established as others, not as subjects. Lee Cheong-joon reveals the violent nature that occurs in this subject-other relationship by reproducing the other. The reproduction of the other person as an 'anonymous being' in 'Gasoo' is presented through the testimony of the related person. The location where the two main heroes are reproduced as anonymous beings is in the imaginary identification of the witnesses. Lee Cheong-joon reveals the violent situation in which anonymous beings are prohibited from being alone as a whole, with the gloomy atmosphere that dominates the text and the disconnection of communication. And again, as an alternative for the subject to stand alone, it is found in communication in a conversational relationship. This writer's alternative is also revealed in the narrative strategy of “Gasoo”. It avoids violent foundations against others by showing a three-dimensional view of others with a complex and multi-layered narrative situation in the frame format.
