언론이 다루는 차별 담론과 쟁점화

국문 초록

이 연구는 2010년부터 2022년까지 국내 주요 전국일간지에서 보도된 차별에 관한 보도를 중심으로 토픽모델링 방법을 활용해 언론이 구성하는 차별 담론을 분석했다. 분석 결과, 언론사별 차별 담론은 다르게 구성되어 있었고 시기별로 주제가 변화했다. 차별에 대한 포괄적 내용에서 구체적인 세부 현안 중심으로 전개되고 있었다. 주요 차별 담론은 차별에 대한 논란과 차별금지 및 철폐에 대한 사안이었다. 비판적 시각에서 차별에 대한 언론 보도의 문제점과 개선 사항을 논의했다. 나아가 문제 해결 과정 중심의 쟁점화로 나아가기 위한 실천적 방안 마련의 필요성을 제기했다.

영문 초록

This study examined the discourse of discrimination composed by the media using topic modeling, focusing on news articles on discrimination reported in major national daily newspapers in Korea from 2010 to 2022. From the results, the discourse of discrimination was composed differently for each media company and the subject changed by period. It was changing from the comprehensive content of discrimination to specific detailed issues. The main discourse of discrimination was the controversy over discrimination and the issue of prohibition and abolition of discrimination. From a critical point of view, the problems and improvements of news media on discrimination were discussed. Furthermore, this study emphasized the need for practical efforts to move toward issue making, focusing on the problem-solving process.
