국문 초록

2010년대 대중문화가 소비전략 중 하나로 향수를 이용하면서 과거의 경험이나 체험의 재현을 넘어, 과거에 대한 ‘가상적인’ 문화적 약호를 양산하였다. 이 연구는 영화 <건축학개론>을 통하여 “멜로드라마의 관습과 반복”의 차원에서 (시공간을 초월한) 기억이나 향수가 현재에 재생되는 과정에서 의도했건 의도하지 않았건, 내포한 혹은 내포되어버린 환상성에 주목하고자하는 데 있다. 이 환상성이 그대로 멜로드라마 스토리 구현의 전략이 된다는 입장에서 아파두라이의 ‘상상된 향수(imagined nostelgia)’에서부터 논의를 시작하고, 에티엔 수리오가 환상영화의 분류를 통해 언급한 환상성의 ‘경이로움과 불안’, 현실과 환상의 연결 통로인 중간계 장치에 대한 논의로 확장하였다. 영화 <건축학개론>은 과거의 흔적과 파편들을 멜로서사로 결합하기 위하여, 집의 재건축이라는 방법을 이용한다. 달리 말하면 바슐라르의 몽상으로 야기된, 과거로부터 이어진 사소한 집의 흔적들을 배치하고, 재건축을 통해 푸코의 헤테로토피아를 구축하면서, 금기의 안과 밖을 경이로움과 불안으로 경험, ‘또 다른 환상성’을 구현하고 있는 것이다. 멜로서사의 관습적 어긋남으로 상실한 장소들을 제주로 불러와 재현하고, 재조립하면서 빈집의 환상성에 접속하는 것이다. 이러한 건축의 과정은, 이 영화의 멜로서사를 더욱 견고하게 만든다.

영문 초록

As popular culture in the 2010s used nostalgia as one of its consumption strategies, it spawned a ‘virtual’ cultural code for the past. In this study, through the movie , in the dimension of “the conventions and repetitions of melodrama” (transcending time and space), in the process of reproducing memories or nostalgia, whether intentionally or unintentionally, the implicit or implied fantasy is intended to pay attention to. In the sense that fantasy becomes a strategy for realizing a melodrama story, the discussion begins with ARJUN APPADURAI’s “Imagined Nostelgia”, through the classification of fantasy films, Etienne Surio mentionedin “marvelous and doubtful”, furthermore, to the Middle-earth device which is a passageway between reality and fantasy, Movie uses a method of reconstruction of the house, to combine past traces and debris in melo-narrative. In other words, the Imagine from the Imagination of Gaston Bacheard, following from the past, placed the traces of a minor house, constructing Michel FouCault’s Heterotopia through reconstruction, experienced in the ophthalmic and anxiety, implementing ‘another fantasticity’. As a customary deviation of Melo-narrative, lost places bringing it to Jeju, recreating it, and reassembling it connect to the fantasy of the Empty-house. The process of this architecture makes the melo-narrative of this movie more robust.
