경찰의 직무스트레스가 직무소진에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

이 연구는 경찰 지구대에서 근무하는 경찰관의 직무스트레스가 직무소진에 미치는 영향을 살펴보기 위한 목적으로 수행되었으며, 연구의 완성을 위하여 현직 지구대 소속 경찰관을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 얻어진 자료를 통계적 기법으로 가설을 검증하였다. 지구대는 민생치안의 최일선에서 치안서비스를 제공하는 부서로서 양질의 치안서비스를 제공하기 위하여 소속 경찰관들은 많은 노력을 하고 있으나, 직무의 난의도가 높고, 업무량이 많은 탓에 지구대 소속 경찰관은 많은 직무스트레스를받고 있다. 이러한 직무스트레스는 소속 경찰관들을 정신적ㆍ육체적으로 탈진시키기 때문에 경찰관 개인적으로도 큰 문제이지만 양질의 치안서비스를 생산하지 못하기 때문에 사회적 문제가 되고 있다. 이 연구에서는 지구대 소속 경찰관의 직무스트레스가 직무소진에 미치는 영향을 살펴본 결과, 직무스트레스를 구성하는 직무관련 스트레스는 감정고갈에 유의미한 영향을 끼치는 것으로 나타났으며, 보상관련 스트레스 또한 감정고갈에 유의미한 영향을 끼치는 것으로 나타났다. 인적관계 관련 스트레스는 감정고갈과 직업효능감 감소에 유의미한 영향을 끼치는 것으로 나타나 지구대 소속 경찰의 직무스트레스는 결국 직무소진에 일부 유의미한 영향을 끼치는 것이 증명되었다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 문제에 적극적으로 대응하기 위한 매뉴얼 개선, 인사상ㆍ금전적 보상강화, 경직된 조직문화 개선을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine how job stress of officer working at a police patrol on burnout. This study conducted a survey on police patrol officers in service and analyzed the survey results statistically to prove the hypothesis. Police patrol is a division that provides the security service in the first line and police patrol officers are trying their best to provide high-quality security service. However, police patrol officers are suffering from high level of job stress due to difficulty of duty and overloads. Such job stress not only causes emotional and physical exhaustion of police patrol officers in individual level but also prevents police patrol officers from providing high-quality security service. This study examined how job stress of police patrol officers influenced on burnout and the jobrelated stress in job stress had a significant influence on emotional exhaustion. Also, reward-related stress had a significant influence on emotional exhaustion. Meanwhile, personal relationship-related stress had a significant influence on emotional exhaustion and decrease in job efficacy. These proved that job stress of police patrol officers have partially significant influence on the burnout. To solve this issue, this study suggested on developing manuals for actively responding to issue, providing personnel and financial rewards, and improving a rigid organizational culture.
