국문 초록

이 논문의 목적은 윤극영의 초기 활동 특징을 제시하는 것이다. 이를 위해 색동회와 다리아회의 결성 과정과 특징 등을 살펴보았다. 색동회는 1923년 만들어진 아동문화운동단체이다. 윤극영은 색동회의 창립 회원이었다. 1925년 윤극영은우리나라 최초의 동요보급단체 다리아회를 조직했다. 방정환과 윤극영, 정순철 등처럼 우리 아동문학의 핵심 인물들이 활동했던 색동회의 기본 방향은 아동과 민족이었다. 윤극영은 색동회의 기본 이념을 다리아회를 통해 구체적으로 실현하고 있었다. 다리아회는 약 일 년여라는 짧은 기간 동안 활동했다. 그러나 우리 동요를 보급하고 창가극을 공연하는 등의 의미 있는 성과를 거두었다. 또한 예술 활동을 통해 ‘민족 독립’의 의지를 전달하는 소년회로서도 활발히 활동했다. 이와 같이 다리아회는 색동회의 이념을 실천한 ‘실제’의 역할을 하고 있었다. 이는 곧 윤극영의 초기 활동의 특징이‘민족’과 ‘아동 중심 사상’에 있었다는 근거가 된다. 그의 초기 특징을 출발점으로 삼아 그의 작품 세계를 더욱 적극적으로 연구하려는 노력이 필요하다. 이는 곧 우리 동요사의 한 부분을 복원하는 일이기도 하기 때문이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to present the characteristics of Yoon Kuk-young’s initial activities. To this end, the process and characteristics of the formation of the Saekdonghoe and Dariahoe were examined. Saekdonghoe is a children’s cultural movement organization established in 1923. Yoon Kuk-young was a founding member of the Saekdong Association. In 1925, Yoon Kuk-young organized the Dariahoe, Korea s first children’s song distribution organization. Like Bang Jeong-hwan, Yoon Kuk-young, and Jeong Soon-cheol, the basic directions of the Saek donghoe, where key figures in our children’s literature were active, were children and people. Yoon Kuk-young was realizing the basic ideology of Saekdonghoe in detail through the Dariahoe. The Dariahoe was active for a short period of about a year. However, it has achieved meaningful results such as distributing Korean children s songs such as New Year’s Day and Bandal and performing singing play. He also actively worked as a juvenile association that conveys the will of ‘national independence’ through artistic activities. As such, the Dariahoe was playing the role of ‘actual’ that practiced the ideology of Saekdonghoe. This is the basis for the fact that the characteristics of Yoon Kuk-young’s initial activities were in ‘ethnic’ and ‘child-centered ideas’. Efforts should be made to more actively study the world of his work using his early characteristics as a starting point. This is because it is also the restoration of a part of our children’s song history.
