국문 초록

본 연구는 《경주풍물지리지》에 수록된 경주군 서남부 지역의 마을 이름 307개를 대상으로 하여 앞요소를 분석함으로써 계량적 특징과 명명 유연성의 특성을 살피는 데 목적이 있다. 마을 이름의 앞요소는 대부분 그 이름의 명명 유래와관련이 있다. 앞요소의 분석을 통해 해당 지역 지명의 명명 유연성과 여타 유의미한 가치를 파악할 수 있다. 경주군 서남부 지역 마을 이름의 앞요소를 대상으로 내부 기준과 외부 기준에 의한 형태적 특징을 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. - 전체적으로 볼 때, 내부 기준과 외부 기준의 비율은 ‘141:166’로 나타났으며, ‘형태’에 관련된 것보다 ‘속성’에 관련된 항목이 우세하게 나타났다. - 내부 기준에 의한 분석 결과: ‘위치’와 관련된 명칭이 매우 생산적으로 나타남을 알 수 있다. - 외부 기준에 의한 분석 결과: ‘인공물’, ‘자연물’과 관련한 구별 표지들이 매우 생산적으로 사용되었다. ‘관사, 절, 점, 정자’ 등의 인공물과 ‘물, 산골짜기, 밭, 바위, 숲’과 관련한 자연물이 마을 이름의 명명 기반이 되었다. - 경주군 서남부 지역 마을 이름에 고어형 혹은 방언형이 많이 잔재하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 해당 지역 주민의발음 습관이나 방언적 특성으로 인해 마을 이름이 음운 변화를 일으킨 경우도 찾아볼 수 있었다. - 해당 마을 이름의 이칭까지 포함하여 조사한 결과, 고유어 계열의 명칭이 훨씬 생산적임을 알 수 있었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the quantitative characteristics and the characteristics of naming flexibility by analyzing the preceding elements by targeting 307 village names in the southwestern part of Gyeongju-gun included in the Gyeongju Pungmul Geography . Most of the preceding elements of a village name have to do with the origin of the name. Through the analysis of the preceding elements, it is possible to grasp the naming flexibility and meaningful value of the geographical names in the southwestern part of Gyeongju-gun. The results of investigating the morphological characteristics by internal and external criteria for the front elements of village names in the southwestern part of Gyeongju-gun are as follows. - Overall, the ratio of the internal standard to the external standard was ‘141:166’, and items related to ‘attributes’ rather than those related to ‘form’ appeared predominant. - Analysis results based on internal standards: It can be seen that the names related to ‘location’ appear very productively. - As a result of analysis by external standards: Distinguishing markers related to ‘artificial objects’ and ‘natural objects’ were used very productively. - It was found that many archaic forms or dialectal forms remain in the names of villages in the southwestern part of Gyeongju-gun. In addition, there were cases where the name of the village had a change in phoneme due to the pronunciation habits or dialectal characteristics of the local residents. - As a result of the investigation including the alias of the village name, it was found that the name of the native language family is much more productive.
