한국어 형용사 다의어의 교육용 의미 선정 및 등급화

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 개별 단어가 가진 다의성에 대한 의미론적 접근을 통해 한국어 어휘의 의미 교육 자료를 구축하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 방법 이를 위하여 한국어 형용사 다의어의 의미를 체계적으로 분석하고, 어휘 등급을 넘어 어휘의 의미 등급에 대한 표준화 작업을 시도하였다. 분석 어휘 선정을 위해 김중섭 외(2017)의 한국어 교육용 형용사 762개를 대상으로 3종의 국어사전 검토 결과 둘 이상의 의미를 가진 다의어 375개를 1차적으로 추출하였고 이 중 어휘 등급이 1급인 다의어 45개를 2차 목록으로 추출하였다. 그리고 서상규(2019)의 어휘 중요도 판정 기준에 기대어 한국어 기본어휘 목록 3종에 공통적으로 나타난 어휘 중 모어 화자 사용 빈도 1,000 이상인 7개 단어에 대하여 교육용 의미 선정 및 등급화 작업의 실례를 보였다. 결과 다의 분석을 위해 3종의 국어사전 기술 및 SJ-RIKS 코퍼스 용례를 바탕으로 어휘의 의미 평정 작업을 하였으며, 3인의 전문가 평정을 통해 최종적으로 ‘없다, 아니다, 같다, 좋다, 그렇다, 다르다, 크다’의 교육용 의미를 선정하고 의미 등급을 판정한 결과 동일한 1급 어휘임에도 불구하고 파생된 의미 가운데에는 중급 수준의 의미도 있었으며, 명시적 제시가 필요 없는 경우도 있었다. 또한 동일 단어임에도 불구하고 사용되는 문형에 차이가 있어 이를 반영한 어휘 의미 교육이 필요함을 확인하였다. 결론 본고는 한국어 학습자가 학습해야 할 숱한 어휘의 의미 가운데 극히 일부만을 다루었다는 데 한계가 있으나, 어휘 등급과 의미 등급을 동일시하는 관점에서 벗어나 한국어 교육에서 아직 심도 있게 논의되지 못한 다의어의 의미를 체계적으로 분석하고 등급화하는 작업을 시도하였다는 데 의의를 지닌다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to construct educational materials on the meaning of Korean vocabulary through a semantic approach to the polysemy of individual words. Methods For this, we systematically analyzed the meaning of Korean adjective polysemy and attempted to standardize the meaning grade of vocabulary beyond the vocabulary grade. For the analysis vocabulary selection, 375 polysemy with two or more meanings were first extracted as a result of a review of 762 Korean language educational adjectives, and 45 polysemy with a vocabulary grade of 1st were extracted as a secondary list. In addition, based on the criteria for determining the importance of vocabulary by Sang-gyu Seo(2019), 7 words with a frequency of using 1,000 or more mother tongue speakers among the words commonly appearing in the three basic Korean vocabulary lists were exemplified in the selection and grading of educational meaning. Results Three Korean dictionaries and SJ-RIKS corpus were used to analyze the meaning of polysemy, and the meaning grade was finally determined by three experts. Despite being the same 1st level vocabulary, there were intermediate-level meanings among the derived meanings, and there were cases where explicit presentation was not necessary. It was also confirmed that vocabulary meaning education reflecting this was necessary because there were differences in sentence patterns used despite being the same word. Conclusions This paper is meaningful in that it has attempted to systematically analyze and grade the meanings of polysemy that have not yet been discussed in depth in Korean education, away from the perspective of equating vocabulary and meaning grades.
