간호 대학생의 학업 성취도, 임상수행능력, 정신적 강인함이 실습 과정에서 경험하는 소진에 미치는 영향: 다중매개모형분석

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 간호 대학생이 실습 중에 경험하는 소진에 대한 학업 성취도, 임상수행능력, 정신적 강인함의 영향을 살펴보고, 학업 성취도와 소진의 관계에서 임상수행능력과 정신적 강인함의 매개효과를 조사하였다. 방법 임상실습 과정에 있는 간호학과 4학년 대학생 167명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS와 PROCESS macro 프로그램을 통해 분석되었으며, 변수 간의 관계는 회귀분석과 매개모형 분석을 통해 조사되었다. 매개모형 분석은 Hayes (2013)가 제안한 방법에 따라 부트스트랩을 활용하여 매개효과의 유의성을 검토하는 방법으로 진행되었다. 결과 학업 성취도가 높을수록 임상수행능력과 정신적 강인함도 높아지지만, 소진에는 직접적인 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 임상수행능력이 높을수록 정신적 강인함이 증가하고 소진은 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 정신적 강인함이 높을수록 소진이 낮아지는 것으로 나타났다. 매개모형을 분석한 결과에서는 임상수행능력과 정신적 강인함이 학업 성취도와 소진의 관계를 개별적으로 매개하는 경로가 유의한 것으로 나타났고, 순차적으로 거쳐서 매개하는 경로도 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 결론 이상의 결과는 학업 성취도가 임상수행능력과 정신적 강인함을 향상시켜 간접적으로 소진에 영향을 미친다는 것을 시사한다. 따라서 간호 대학생의 소진을 완화하기 위해서는 학업 성취도와 함께 임상수행능력과 정신적 강인함을 함께 고려해야 한다고 제안한다. 이에 본 연구는 학생의 심리적 안정과 전문성 개발을 지원하기 위해 간호 교육의 맥락에서 정신적 강인함을 높이기 위한 중재와 프로그램의 필요성을 강조한다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study examined the effects of academic achievement, clinical performance, and mental toughness on burnout experienced by nursing college students during their practicum period. Furthermore, We analysed the mediating effects of clinical performance and mental toughness on the relationship between academic achievement and burnout. Methods A survey was conducted with 167 fourth-year nursing students enrolled in clinical training courses. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS and PROCESS macro programs, and the relationships between variables were examined through regression and mediation model analyses. Mediation model analysis was conducted by examining the significance of the mediation effect using bootstrapping according to the method suggested by Hayes (2013). Results The results indicated that higher academic achievement was associated with higher clinical performance ability and mental toughness, but did not have a direct effect on burnout. Increased clinical performance was associated with increased mental toughness and decreased burnout. Additionally, higher mental toughness was associated with lower burnout. Mediation model analysis showed that clinical performance ability and mental toughness individually and sequentially significantly mediated the relationship between academic achievement and burnout. Conclusions These findings suggest that academic achievement indirectly affects burnout by improving clinical performance and mental toughness. Therefore, clinical performance and mental toughness should be considered along with academic achievement to alleviate burnout among nursing students. This study emphasizes the need for interventions and programs to increase mental toughness in nursing education in order to support students' psychological stability and professional development.
