금융업에 종사하는 임원의 스트레스와 대처 경험에 관한 질적 연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 금융업에 종사하고 있는 임원의 스트레스와 대처 경험을 이해하고자 하는 데 그 목적이 있었다. 방법 이를 위하여 4명의 임원들에게 심층면담을 진행하여 자료를 수집하였고, 참여자의 경험에 관하여 생생한 목소리를 이끌어 내어 체험을 집중적으로 탐색하는 내러티브 탐구 방법을 사용하여 분석 하였다. 결과 분석 결과 임원의 스트레스와 대처 경험에 대하여 총 6개의 영역, 21개 하위범주, 55개의 의미단위가 도출되었다. 6개의 영역은 ‘다양하면서도 긴박한 스트레스와 함께 생활함’, ‘지위가 올라가면서 책임과 한계가 변화됨’, ‘마음을 움직이는 리더가 되고자 함’, ‘직원들이 일을 잘 할 수 있도록 만드는 사람이 되고자 함’, ‘일을 벗어나 스트레스를 해소하는 시간을 가짐’, ‘삶의 주체자로서 일의 의미와 즐거움을 느낌’이었다. 결론 본 연구는 금융권 임원의 개인적이고 사회적인 삶을 구성하는 경험을 분석하고 의미를 도출해내었으며, 연구 결과를 토대로 금융업 종사 임원들이 당면한 스트레스를 잘 대처하도록 지원하는 상담 프로그램 개발의 필요성과, 기업교육에의 활용, 추후 다양한 분야의 임원 경험에 대한 질적, 양적 연구 등에 대하여 제언하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study was to understand the stress and coping experiences of executives working in the financial industry. Methods For this purpose, data was collected through in-depth interviews with four executives, and analyzed using a narrative inquiry method that intensively explored the experiences of the participants by eliciting their vivid voices. Results As a result of the analysis, a total of 6 areas, 21 subcategories, and 55 meaning units were derived regarding executives' stress and coping experiences. The six areas are ‘Living with diverse and urgent stress’, ‘Responsibilities and limitations change as status rises’, ‘Wanting to be a leader who moves hearts’, ‘Wanting to become a person who helps employees do their jobs well’, ‘Having time to relieve stress away from work’, and ‘Feeling the meaning and joy of work as a person with a sense of ownership’. Conclusions This study analyzed and derived meaning from the experiences that make up the personal and social lives of executives in the financial industry. Based on the research results, the need to develop a counseling program to help executives in the financial industry cope with the stress they face, and the need for corporate education Suggestions were made for use and future qualitative and quantitative research on executive experience in various fields.
