초등교사들의 AI 디지털교과서 도입에 대한 인식

국문 초록

목적 본 연구의 목적은 초등 교사들이 AI 디지털교과서에 대해 가지는 인식, 기대 그리고 우려를 조사하고 분석하는 것이다. 이를 통해 교사들이 AI 디지털교과서의 도입에 대해 가지고 있는 다양한 관점을 이해하고, 이를 바탕으로 실질적인 지원방안을 마련하는 데 목적을 두고 있다. 방법 본 연구에서는 동시적 내재 혼합연구 설계(Concurrent nested mixed method design)를 활용하여 정량적 데이터와 정성적 데이터를 동시에 수집하였다. 설문조사를 통해 초등 교사 163명을 대상으로 AI 디지털교과서에 대한 인식을 분석하고, 개방형 질문을 통해 추가적인 질적 데이터를 수집하였다. 결과 연구 결과, 교사들은 AI 디지털교과서에 대해 전반적으로 긍정적 기대보다 우려를 더 많이 표명하였다. 특히 신체적, 윤리적, 사회적 영역에서의 우려가 두드러졌으며, 교사들은 시력 저하, 개인정보 유출, 디지털 격차 심화 등의 문제를 크게 걱정하고 있었다. 반면, 기술적 편리성과 행정적 업무 효율성, 맞춤형 교육 가능성 등에 대해서는 긍정적인 기대를 가지고 있었다. 결론 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, AI 디지털교과서에 대한 행정적, 기술적 부담을 줄여줄 수 있는 실효성 있는 대책이 필요하다. 둘째, AI 디지털교과서의 신체적 영향에 대한 장기화된 추적 연구 및 조사가 필요하다. AI 디지털교과서의 도입과 사용이 학생들의 신체적 건강에 미치는 영향을 면밀히 조사하고 평가하기 위해서는 장기적인 영향 평가 연구가 필요하다. 셋째, 개인정보 유출이나 부정행위, 표절 문제와 같은 윤리적 해결하기 위한 강력한 보안 정책이 필요하다. 넷째, AI 디지털교과서는 교사들이 기대하는 부분을 개발에 반영하여 교사들이 자발적으로 사용하고 싶은 수업 도구가 되어야한다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to investigate and analyze elementary school teachers' perceptions, expectations, and concerns about AI digital textbooks. This will contribute to understanding the various perspectives teachers have on the introduction of AI digital textbooks and help develop practical support measures based on these insights. Methods This study employed a concurrent nested mixed method design to collect quantitative and qualitative data simultaneously. A survey was conducted to analyze the perceptions of 163 elementary school teachers regarding AI digital textbooks, and additional qualitative data was collected through open-ended questions. Results The study found that teachers expressed more concerns than positive expectations about AI digital textbooks overall. Concerns were particularly prominent in physical, ethical, and social aspects, with teachers worried about issues such as deteriorating eyesight, personal information leakage, and widening digital divide. On the other hand, they had positive expectations regarding technological convenience, administrative efficiency, and the possibility of personalized education. Conclusions The conclusions of the study are as follows. First, effective measures are needed to reduce the administrative and technological burden associated with AI digital textbooks. Second, long-term tracking studies and investigations are necessary to assess the physical impact of AI digital textbooks. Long-term impact assessment studies are needed to closely examine and evaluate the effects of AI digital textbook introduction and use on students' physical health. Third, strong security policies are required to address ethical issues such as personal information leakage, cheating, and plagiarism. Fourth, AI digital textbooks should incorporate teachers' expectations in their development to become teaching tools that teachers voluntarily want to use. Additionally, the study emphasizes participatory design by teachers and discusses their role as active policy shapers rather than passive policy implementers.
