국문 초록

본고가 영화 <82년생 김지영>의 여성인물과 서사분석을 중심주제로 삼았던 것은 젠더 갈등 논란에도 불구하고, 개봉 후 남성 네티즌의 평점이 높아진 결과에서 비롯되었다. 이는 소설의 서사와 영화의 서사가 분명한 차이를 가지고 있기에 나타난 결과로 파악된다. 따라서 이러한 차이는 영화적 서사가 관객의 공감을 불러일으키기에 보다효과적이었으며 넛셸테크닉에서 언급하는 흥행 양식에 부합되는 것을 확인할 수 있다. 본고는 영화 <82년생 김지영>의 서사를 소설과 비교하고, 영화적 서사의 요소와 구조에 대한 분석을 시도한다. 상영시간을 기준으로 넛셸테크닉의 8요소와 각 요소들이 배치된 지점을 파악하여 흥행 요인을 밝히는 것이 이 연구의 방법론이다. 본 연구는 소설을 원작으로 한 영화를 제작할 때, 성공적인 이야기로 각색하기 위해 갖추어야할 서사구조의 필수요소를 제시한다. 또한. 넛셸테크닉 8요소와 함께 도식화한 넛셸테크닉 양식을 활용해 분석했다는 점은 국내 연구에서 처음 시도한 것으로써 가치가 있다.

영문 초록

This paper compares the narrative of the movie with the novel to analyze the elements and structure of the cinematic narrative. The methodology of this study is to identify the eight elements of Nutshell Technique and the point where each element was placed to reveal the box office factors based on the running time. This study presents the essential elements of the narrative structure that must be equipped to adapt into a successful story when producing a film based on a novel. In addition, the analysis using the schematic diagram along with the eight elements of Nutshell Technique is valuable as the first attempt in a domestic study. The main theme of this paper’s narrative analysis with woman character in the movie stems from the increased rating of male netizens after its release despite of controversy over gender conflicts. This is understood as a result of the novel and the movie’s narrative having a clear difference. Therefore, it could be confirmed that this difference was more effective in arousing sympathy from the audience and was consistent with the box office style remarked in Nutshell Technique.
