설암추붕(雪巖秋鵬) 소상팔경의 표현미학과 시적 지향

국문 초록

본고는 설암추붕(雪巖秋鵬, 1651~1706) 소상팔경의 표현미학과 시적 지향을 알아보고자 했다. 우선 설암추붕과 같은 법계에 있는 월저도안과 허정법종과의 관계 속에서 소상팔경시의 창작과정을 살펴보았다. 그리고 이들의작품을 설암추붕 소상팔경과 비교하며 고찰하였다. 17세기 소상팔경을 창작한 선승 가운데 설암추붕은 월저도안(月渚道安, 1638~1715), 허정법종(虛靜法宗, 1670 ~1733)과 사승 관계로 연결되어 있다. 설암추붕은 월저도안으로부터 의발을 전수받았고, 허정법종은 설암추붕에게현묘한 뜻을 듣고 인가를 받았다. 이들의 소상팔경을 살펴보면 월저도안의 작품을 설암추붕과 허정법종이 이어받았음을 알 수 있었다. 허정법종은 월저도안의 소상팔경 배열순서를 그대로 원용하였고, 설암추붕은 스승인 월저도안의 소상팔경에 차운하여 시를 형상화하였다. 작품의 내용은 서로 유사한 지점들이 발견되었지만, 설암추붕의 소상팔경은 다양한 이미지를 활용하여 시를 형상화하는 특징이 있었다. 설암추붕의 소상팔경 풍경은 <遠浦歸帆> <平沙落雁> <漁村落照>에서 시각적 이미지의 극대화와 회화적 색채감이, <洞庭秋月>1 <烟寺暮鍾> <山市晴嵐>에서 다양한 이미지의 교차와 시선의 다변화가, <瀟湘夜雨> <洞庭秋月>2 <江天暮雪>에서 상상적 이미지의 활용과 감각적 공간미를 느낄 수 있었다. 구체적으로 설암추붕의작품은 원근감을 활용한 공간을 표현함으로써 풍경화적 요소를 작품에 투영시키거나 빛의 이미지를 적절히 활용하여 자연을 감정이입의 대상물로 여기기도 했다. 또한 공감각적 이미지를 활용하여 심상을 제시하는 방법으로 감각적인 공간을 연출하기도 하고, 현실 세계를 벗어난 신선계의 상상적 풍경을 자아내기도 했다.

영문 초록

This paper attempted to find out the expressive aesthetics and poetic orientation of the eight views from xiao and xiang rivers of Seolam Chubung. First of all, the creative process of the eight views from xiao and xiang rivers was examined in the relationship between Woljeo Doan and Heo Jeong Beopjong in the legal world such as Seolam Chubung. In addition, the eight views from xiao and xiang rivers of Seolam Chubung were compared with their works and considered. Among the Zen monks who created the eight views from xiao and xiang rivers in the 17th century, Seolam Chubung is connected to Woljeo Doan, Heo Jeongbeopjong, and four monks. Chubung received a prosthetic hand from Doan, and Beopjong heard a subtle meaning from Chubung and received approval. And if you look at their the eight views from xiao and xiang rivers, you can see that Chubung and Beobong inherited doan’s works. Beopjong used the arrangement order of the eight views from xiao and xiang rivers of Doan as it was, and Chubung created a poem by reciting the eight views from xiao and xiang rivers of his teacher Doan. Similar points were found in the contents of the work, but the eight views from xiao and xiang rivers of Chubung were characterized by shaping poetry using various images. The eight views from xiao and xiang rivers of Seolam Chubung showed the maximization of visual images and pictorial color in < > < > < >, the intersection and diversification of various images and gaze in < >1 < > < >, and the use of imaginary images and sensory spatial beauty in < > < >2 < >. Specifically, Seolam Chubung’s work also regarded nature as an object of empathy by expressing space using perspective and projecting landscape elements into the work or appropriately utilizing the image of light. It also created a sensuous space by using synesthetic images to present images, and created an imaginary landscape of the fresh world outside the real world.
