대학 비교과 교육 현황과 발전 방안

국문 초록

이 연구는 비교과 과정의 중요성이 증가함에 따라 국내 비교과 교육의 구성과 운영 내용을 파악하고 발전 방안을 제시하기 위해 실시되었다. 국내 150개의 대학을 대상으로 다음의 7개의 영역으로 분석 기준을 정하고 비교과 과정을 분석하였다. 7개 영역은 대학 교시 구현 영역, 인성교육 영역, 신입생 정착 및 대학생활지도 영역, 사회적 체험 영역, 신체적 체험 영역, 정서적 미적 체험 영역과 취 창업 관련 영역으로 구분하였다. 분석 결과, 국내대학의 56.5%에서 취 창업 관련 영역을 개설하고 운영하고 있으며 이는 가장 많은 영역에 해당하였다. 그 다음으로, 인성교육(35.4%), 사회적 체험(34%), 신입생 대학생활지도(30.6%) 순으로 나타났다. 반면, 신체적 체험 영역과 대학 교시 구현 영역은 다른 영역과 비교했을 때 낮은 빈도를 차지하였다. 이 두 영역은 교과 개설 여부와각 대학의 특성과 역사, 설립 취지에 따라 편차가 크게 나타났다. 비교과 교육 프로그램의 숫자로 분석한 결과, 전체 비교과 프로그램 870개 중에서 취 창업(38.2%)이 가장 많았고 신입생 정착 및 대학생활지도(24.1%), 인성함양(16.2%), 사회적 체험(9.5%) 등의 순으로 나타났다. 국내 대학의 비교과 프로그램의 운영 비율과 개수는 대학이 현재 중요하게 인식하는 영역에 대한 강도와 관심도를 반영하고 있는 것으로 판단된다. 이 연구는 국내 대학의 비교과 과정 구성 비율과 운영 내용을 실증 조사하고 분석하였다는 데에 의의가 있다. 앞으로는 비교과 과정의각 영역이 더욱 균형적으로 활발하게 운영될 필요가 있다는 점을 밝힌다.

영문 초록

As the importance of extra-curricular programs increases, this study was conducted to understand the composition and operation of domestic extra-curricular education and to suggest development plans. For 150 universities in Korea, analysis criteria were set in the following seven areas and extra-curricular programs was analyzed. The seven areas were divided into the areas of university teaching implementation area, character education area, freshman settlement and college life guidance, social experience areas, physical experience areas, emotional and aesthetic experience areas, and employment and start-up areas. As a result of the analysis, 56.5% of domestic universities opened and operated employment and start-up areas, which were the largest areas. Next, character education area (35.4%), social experience (34%), and college life guidance (30.6%) for freshmen were followed. On the other hand, the physical experience area and the university teaching implementation area occupied a lower frequency compared to other areas. These two areas differed greatly depending on whether or not the curriculum was opened, the characteristics, history, and the purpose of establishment of each university. As a result of analyzing the number of extracurricular programs, employment and start-ups (38.2%) were the most out of the 870 extra-curricular programs, followed by freshman settlement and college life guidance (24.1%), character education area (16.2%), and social experience (9.5%). The ratio and number of extra-curricular education at domestic universities are believed to reflect the intensity and interest of the areas that universities currently recognize as important. This study is meaningful in that it empirically investigated and analyzed the composition ratio and operation contents of extra-curricular programs at domestic universities. In the future, it reveals that each area of the extra-curricular programs needs to be operated more balanced and active.
