국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 예비유아교사가 유치원 현장 실습 중 작성한 유아 관찰 기록의 주요 내용 및 특성을 분석하여 예비유아교사의 관찰 역량 강화를 위한 교육적 지원 방안을 제안하는데 목적이 있다. 방법 이를 위해 2024년 5월 7일부터 5월 31일까지 경기도 소재 4년제 대학 유아교육과에 재학 중인 59명의 예비유아교사들이 실습 중 작성한 유아 관찰 기록을 수합하여 준거에 따른 빈도 분석과 질적 분석을 병행하였으며, 예비유아교사 12명을 대상으로 실시한 면담 자료에 대한 질적 분석을 하였다. 결과 첫째, 예비유아교사들이 실습 중 작성한 유아 관찰 기록의 주요 내용은 ‘자유놀이 상황에 집중된 관찰’, ‘유아와 교사 관계에 집중된 관찰’, ‘사회관계에 집중된 관찰’, ‘평가 중심의 견해’, ‘유아의 유능성에 근거한 판단’ 으로 볼 수 있다. 둘째, 예비유아교사들이 실습 중 작성한 유아 관찰 기록의 특성으로는 ‘놀이 드러내기’, ‘파노라마식 관찰’, ‘관심의 쏠림’, ‘사실의 반복과 요약’, ‘근거가 미약한 해석’을 들 수 있다. 결론 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 예비유아교사의 관찰 역량 강화를 위한 직전교육과정 및 관찰 실습 운영의 개선 방향을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purposes of this study were to analyze the key contents and characteristics of early child observation records written by pre-service early childhood teachers during kindergarten field training and to propose educational support strategies for enhancing teachers' observation skills. Methods To achieve this, from May 7 to May 31, 2024, observation records written by 59 pre-service early childhood teachers enrolled in the Department of Early Childhood Education at a four-year university in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, during their field training were collected. These records were analyzed using frequency analysis and qualitative analysis based on established criteria. Furthermore, qualitative analysis was conducted on interview data obtained from 12 of these pre-service teachers to derive deeper insights. Results First, the key aspects of the early child observation records written by pre-service early childhood teachers during their kindergarten field training include ‘observations focused on free play situations’, ‘observations focused on child-teacher relationships’, ‘observations focused on social interactions’, ‘evaluation-centered perspectives’, and ‘judgments based on children’s competence’. Second, the characteristics of the early child observation records written by pre-service early childhood teachers include ‘emphasizing play’, ‘panoramic observation’, ‘biased focus’, ‘repetition and summary of facts’ and ‘Interpretations with weak evidence’. Conclusions Based on these research findings, suggestions were made for improving the pre-service education currculum and observation practicum to enhance the observation competencies of prospective early childhood teachers.
