복합양식성 기반 영어과 기초 소양 교육방향성 연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 2022 개정 교육과정 총론에서 제시하는 복합양식성 기반 기초 소양을 함양하기 위해 기존의 기초 소양 혹은 리터러시에 관한 연구를 분석하고 이를 바탕으로 영어과 리터러시 교육의 방향성에 대해 모색한다. 방법 2022 개정 교육과정 총론 및 2022 개정 영어과 교육과정에 대한 분석과 리터러시 및 복합양식 리터러시 선행연구에 대한 검토를 바탕으로 영어과 리터러시 분석 도구를 개발하고 학술정보검색서비스(RISS)의 검색엔진에서 영어교육의 리터러시에 대한 연구 자료를 수집한 뒤 개발한 도구를 바탕으로 리터러시 연구 동향을 분석한다. 결과 2005-2024 기간의 자료 분석의 결과, 최근 4년간 집중적으로 디지털 리터러시 및 복합양식 리터러시에 대한 연구의 수는 증가하였으나, 전체적으로 영어 교과에서의 연구는 미미하였다. 본 연구에서 제시하는 내용적인 측면에서 복합양식성을 포함하거나 형식적인 측면에서 체계적인 리터러시 교육 단계를 포함하는 연구는 많지 않았고, 또한 리터러시 함양을 위한 수업 방법이나 활동을 구체적으로 제시하는 모형이나 평가 도구에 대한 연구도 미미하였다. 결론 현재 영어교육의 연구에 있어서 기초 소양과 복합양식 리터러시에 대한 연구가 부족하며, 학교 현장에 적용할 수 있는 수업 모형이나 활동에 대한 제안이 부족하다. 따라서 2022 개정 영어과 교육과정의 도입에 따라 복합양식성 기반의 리터러시를 체계적으로 신장할 수 있는, 현장의 요구를 반영한 교수·학습 모형의 개발과 평가 기준 등에 대한 연구가 필요하다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study aims to explore the direction of literacy education in the English subject from the perspective of multimodal literacy, as presented in the 2022 revised national curriculum, based on the analysis of existing research on basic literacy. Methods A review of the 2022 revised national curriculum and prior studies on literacy and multimodal literacy was conducted. Based on this review, a literacy analysis tool for the English subject was developed. Research materials on literacy in English education from 2005 to 2024 were collected using the academic information search service (RISS), and trends in literacy research were analyzed using the developed tool. Results Analysis of data from 2005-2024 shows that while research on digital literacy and multimodal literacy has increased significantly in the past four years, overall research on English subject literacy has been minimal. There were few studies that included multimodality in content or systematic literacy education procedures in form, and specific instructional models or evaluation tools for literacy education applicable for the actual English classroom were also scarce. Conclusions Current literacy research on teaching methods or activities in English education that can be applied in the field is lacking. Therefore, with the introduction of the 2022 revised national English curriculum, research is needed on the development of instructional models and evaluation instruments that reflect the field's needs to systematically enhance multimodal literacy.
