외국인 유학생 텍스트에 대한 키워드 네트워크 분석 연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 외국인 유학생에 대한 웹자료와 학술논문 자료의 키워드 네트워크 분석을 통해 유학생에 대한 국내 담론 양상을 검토하였다. 2021년 이후 3년간 생성된 텍스트 자료 분석을 통해 유학생 텍스트의 주요 키워드 및 하위 주제를 도출하고 주요 키워드의 에고 네트워크 분석을 통해 유학생에 대한 국내 논의의 양상과 특징을 세밀하게 검토하였다. 방법 텍스트 자료의 분석을 위해 키워드 중요도 및 중심성 분석, 토픽모델링 분석, 그리고 주요 키워드의 에고 네트워크 분석을 실시하였다. 8,779개의 웹문서와 856개의 학술논문 문서가 수집되었고 데이터 정제 과정을 거쳐 최종 277개(웹문서), 261개(논문자료)의 명사가 분석대상으로 선정되었다. 자료 수집 및 분석에는 텍스톰 및 넷마이너 프로그램이 이용되었다. 결과 분석 결과, 웹자료의 경우, ‘대학’, ‘교육’, ‘취업’, ‘유치’, ‘학생’이, 논문자료의 경우, ‘교육’, ‘학습’, ‘한국어’, ‘문화’, ‘대학’이 키워드 빈도(TF-IDF) 최상위 어휘로 나타났으며 연결중심성 역시 높은 것으로 나타났다. 토픽모델링 분석에서는 ‘대학’과 ‘문화’가 두 텍스트에서 공통 주제로 도출되었고 ‘유치’, ‘취업’, ‘학습’, ‘문화’ 등의 주제가 유학생 관련 논의에서 주요하게 이루어지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 에고 네트워크 분석에서 ‘지역’이 ‘대학’과 ‘교육’ 네트워크를 형성하는 데 주요 영향을 미친 것으로 나타났고 ‘취업’과 ‘유치’ 키워드는 각 에고 네트워크 형성에 서로 강한 영향력을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 결론 본 연구의 키워드 네트워크 분석은 대학이 외국인 유학생 유치와 교육을 담당하는 핵심 주체이고 지역사회 역시 유학생 담론에서 주요한 영향을 미치고 있음을 제시한다. 또한 한국의 저출산 고령화의 사회적 문제를 해소하기 위한 정부 정책으로 유학생 유치와 취업이 서로 연계되어 이루어지고 있음을 보여준다. 유학생 인재의 유입 및 정주를 위한 정부, 대학, 지역사회의 협력체계 구축 및 정부 유학생 정책에 대한 제언이 논의된다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study examines the main discussions related to international students in South Korea through keyword network analysis of text data from web news and academic papers produced in the last 3 years. Methods Keyword frequency, keyword centrality, topic modelling and ego network analysis were conducted to examine 1) main keywords and importance of main keywords, 2) subtopics of the texts, and 3) the characteristcs of the network of main keywords, by analysing 8,779 web documents and 856 academic papers. Textom and Netminer programs were used for data collection and analysis. Results As a result, in the web texts, ‘university’, ‘education’, ‘employment’, ‘inducement’, and ‘student’ were found to be the top frequent keywords while in the academic paper texts, ‘education’, ‘learning’, ‘Korean’, ‘culture’, and ‘university’ ranked among top frequent words. Topic modeling analysis showed that ‘university’ and ‘culture’ were common topics in both texts, and discussions related to ‘inducement’, ‘employment’, ‘learning’, and ‘culture’ were also subtopics of texts. Analysis of ego networks showed that ‘region’ had a major influence on forming networks of ‘university’ and ‘education’, and the keyword ‘employment’ and ‘inducement’ had a strong influence on the formation of its ego network each other. Conclusions It was found that ‘university’ was a key player in attracting and educating international students and ‘local community’ was actively involved in the related discussions. It was also found that inducing international students has been being carried out in connection with employment as a government effort to solve the social problem of Korea's low birth rate and aging population. Suggestions for building the cooperating system among the government, university and local community are discussed for attracting and settling international student talents.
