국문 초록

목적 청소년 자녀를 둔 중년기 어머니의 행복감과 부모-자녀관계에서 공감과 부모효능감의 순차적 매개효과를 분석하여 그 연결성을 통합적으로 살펴보고, 부모교육 및 집단상담 프로그램개발의 기초자료로 사용하고자 한다. 방법 이를 위하여 40세 이상 59세 이하 중고등학생 자녀를 둔 어머니 308명을 대상으로 구조화된 설문을 실시하였으며, 응답한 설문자료를 SPSS 25.0과 SPSS PROCESS macro Model 6을 사용하여 어머니의 행복감이 공감과 부모효능감을 순차매개하여 부모-자녀관계에 영향을 미치는지를 검증하였다. 결과 첫째, 어머니 행복감, 부모-자녀관계, 공감, 부모효능감 간에는 유의미한 상관을 보였다. 둘째, 어머니의 행복감과 부모-자녀관계에서 공감과 부모효능감은 각각 부분매개효과가 확인되었다. 셋째, 어머니의 행복감과 부모-자녀관계에서 공감과 부모효능감의 순차적 매개효과는 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 결론 어머니의 행복감이 부모-자녀관계에 직접적인 정적 영향을 미쳤을 뿐만 아니라, 어머니의 행복감이 공감을 증가시키고 이는 다시 부모효능감을 증가시켜 부모-자녀관계에 정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 중년기 어머니 행복감과 청소년기 부모-자녀관계에서 공감과 부모효능감에 대한 연구는 부모와 자녀 모두의 건강한 발달과 성장을 돕는 부모교육 및 집단상담 프로그램개발을 위한 중요한 기초 자료가 될 것이다.

영문 초록

Objectives To analyze the sequential mediating effects of empathy and parental efficacy in the parent-child relationship and the happiness of middle-aged mothers with adolescent children, and to comprehensively examine the connection between them, and to use it as basic data for developing parent education and group counseling programs. Methods To this end, a structured questionnaire was conducted on 308 mothers with middle and high school children aged 40 to 59, and the survey data were used to verify whether mothers’ happiness sequentially mediates empathy and parental efficacy and affects parent-child relationships using SPSS 25.0 and SPSS PROCESS macro Model 6. Results First, there was a significant correlation between mothers’ happiness, parent-child relationships, empathy, and parental efficacy. Second, mothers’ happiness and empathy and parental efficacy in the parent-child relationship each had a partial mediating effect. Third, the sequential mediating effects of empathy and parental efficacy in the parent-child relationship were significant. Conclusions Not only did mothers’ happiness have a direct positive effect on the parent-child relationship, but mothers’ happiness also increased empathy, which in turn increased parental efficacy, which had a positive effect on the parent-child relationship. Research on mothers’ happiness in middle age and empathy and parental efficacy in the parent-child relationship in adolescence will be important basic data for the development of parent education and group counseling programs that help both parents and children develop and grow healthily.
