국문 초록

목적 본 연구의 목적은 S대학교 대학원의 3개 융합전공(혁신의과학, 글로벌 스마트팜, 스마트시티 글로벌 융합)에서 2023년 동안 운영된 6개 융합교과목의 현황과 문제점을 분석하여 개선 방안 및 융합교과목 설계 방향을 도출하는 것이다. 방법 연구 방법으로는 6개 융합교과목 수업운영 내역서 분석을 토대로 학생 포커스 그룹 서면조사, 융합교과목 수강생 설문조사, 그리고 대학(원) 융합교육 전문가 의견 조사를 실시하였다. 결과 융합교과목 운영을 분석한 결과, 각 교과목은 학생들의 다양한 전공 지식 확장과 실무 능력 향상에 도움이 되는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 교과목 운영에서 다양한 전공 배경을 가진 학생들 간의 협업이 가능한 프로젝트 수행, 현장 전문가 초청 강연을 통한 융합지식의 습득, 실무 중심의 프로젝트 수행 등은 학생들의 융합적 사고력과 문제해결 능력 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 미친 것으로 조사되었다. 그러나 수업설계, 운영 및 평가 측면에서 여러 가지 개선이 필요한 것으로 확인되었다. 특히, 팀 프로젝트 운영에서 수행 평가에 대한 형평성 문제, 교수-학생 간 상호작용 부족, 교수자의 체계적인 피드백 미흡, 현장 실습 지원비 부족 등이 주요 문제점으로 지적되었다. 결론 내실있는 융합교과목 운영을 위한 개선 방안으로 학습자 요구분석을 통한 맞춤형 교육 내용 개발, 공통의 수업 가이드라인 마련, 효과적인 팀 구성 방식 도입, 상호작용 중심의 교수·학습 방법 강화, 체계적인 멘토링 시스템 구축, 현장 실습 프로그램의 질적 개선, 중간 평가 및 과정 평가 도입 등이 제시되었다. S대학교 대학원 융합교과목의 보다 체계적이고 효과적인 운영을 위해서는 융합교육과정 설계의 특성을 고려한 새로운 교수·학습 모델 개발과 평가 체계 구축, 대학 차원의 종합적인 지원과 개선이 요구된다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study aims to analyze the current status and issues of six convergence courses offered in 2023 within three interdisciplinary programs (Innovative Medical Science, Global Smart Farm, and Smart City Global Convergence) at S University’s graduate schools. Based on the data analysis, the study seeks to propose improvement strategies and directions for designing convergence courses. Methods The research methods included analyzing the course operation records of six convergence courses, conducting written surveys with student focus groups, administering questionnaires to students enrolled in the convergence courses, and gathering opinions from experts in interdisciplinary education at the university levels. Results The findings indicate that the convergence courses helped expand students' multidisciplinary knowledge and improve their practical skills. Specifically, project-based learning, which allowed collaboration among students with diverse academic backgrounds, along with lectures by field experts and hands-on projects, positively influenced students' convergence thinking and problem-solving abilities. However, several areas for improvement were identified in the course design, management, and evaluation. Key issues included fairness in performance evaluation in team projects, lack of interaction between faculty and students, insufficient systematic feedback from instructors, and a lack of financial support for field practice. Conclusions To enhance the quality of convergence courses, this study suggests improvements such as developing tailored content based on learner needs analysis, establishing common course guidelines, introducing effective team formation methods, strengthening interaction-focused teaching and learning methods, building a systematic mentoring system, improving the quality of field practice programs, and incorporating mid-term and process evaluations. For the graduate schools of S University to operate convergence courses in a more structured and effective manner, there is a need for a new teaching and learning model and evaluation system that considers the unique characteristics of convergence curricula, as well as comprehensive support and improvement efforts at the university level.
