중국인 유학생의 자기소개 구술 담화 양상

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 유학생을 위한 자기소개 교육 방안을 모색하기 위해 유학생의 자기소개 구술 담화 양상을분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해 중국인 유학생의 자기소개 발화를 대상으로 담화 전체 구조를 분석하고 구조의 각단계 내용과 언어 표현에 초점을 맞춰 양상을 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 전체 구조 구성에서는 큰 어려움이 없어 보였으나 사실 정보와 서사 정보를 조화롭게 배열하여 효율적으로 자신을 소개할 수 있는 담화 구성 능력이 부족한것으로 나타났다. 또한 청중과 관련한 발화 맥락에 대한 이해 및 자기소개 담화의 정보 전달 기능과 설득적 기능에 대한 인식이 부족해 보였으며 대학 담화 공동체에서 흔하게 통용되는 정형화된 표현의 다양한 변이형 구사력이부족한 것으로 나타났다. 최근 가열되는 대학의 유학생 유치 경쟁으로 낮은 한국어 숙달도의 유학생이 대학에 진학하는 현상이 심화되고 있다. 즉, 유학생이 자기소개 정도는 당연히 할 것이라는 기대를 할 수 없는 상황이 된것이다. 대학은 이와 같은 현실을 직시하고 유학생에게 대학 담화 공동체에서 요구하는 자기소개 교육을 실시해야한다는 점에서 본고의 의의를 찾을 수 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the self-introduction oral discourse patterns of international students in order to find a self-introduction education plan for international students. To this end, the overall structure of the discourse was analyzed targeting the self-introduction utterances of Chinese students, and the aspects were analyzed focusing on the content and language expression of each stage of the structure. As a result of the analysis, there seemed to be no difficulty in composing the overall structure, but it was found that the discourse composition ability to effectively introduce oneself by arranging factual and narrative information harmoniously was insufficient. In addition, the understanding of the context of speech related to the audience and awareness of the information delivery and persuasive functions of self-introduction discourse were insufficient, and it was found that the ability to use various variants of the standardized expression commonly used in the university discourse community was lacking. Due to the recent heated competition among universities to attract international students, the phenomenon of international students with low proficiency in Korean entering universities is intensifying. In other words, it has become a situation in which international students cannot expect that they will naturally introduce themselves. The significance of this paper can be found in that universities must face this reality and provide international students with self-introduction education required by the university discourse community.
