국문 초록

과학기술의 급격한 발전과 사상 초유의 팬데믹 사태 속에서 생명에 대한 인식의 중요성은 더욱 높아지고 있으며 현대사회는 생명이란 무엇인가에 대한 본질적 질문에 직면하고 있다. 생명에 대한 체계적 이해와 연구는 학제간 융합을 가장 필요로 하는 분야중 하나로 본 논문은 생명에 관한 고유의 사유체계와 철학적 기반을 정립한 동학의 생명사상과 새로운 과학적 기초와 패러다임을 제시하고 있는 후기유전체학을 함께 연구하며 철학과 과학, 동양과 서양의 통섭적 고찰을 시도하고 두 학문 간의 구조적 근친성을 모색해 보고자 하였다. 동학의 생명사상과후기유전체학의 구조적 근친성은 첫째, 생명의 근원을 전체성과 연결성에서 찾는 점, 둘째, 생명의 원리를 변증법적순환구조로 설명하는 점, 셋째, 그 지향점이 합일의 과정을 통한 주체성과 자기창조성에 있다는 점 세 가지 측면에서 발견되며 이러한 특징들은 생명을 동적으로 변화하며 상호작용하는 메커니즘으로 바라보고 있다는 점에서 중요한 의의를 갖는다.

영문 초록

Amid the rapid development of science and technology and unprecedented pandemic, the importance of awareness of life is increasing, and modern society is facing the essential question of what is life. Understanding and research on life is the most necessary field for interdisciplinary convergence, and this paper researched Donghak’s life thought and Postgenomics in order to understand life more systematically. Because Donghak established a unique system of thinking and philosophical basis to explain the principle of life and Postgenomics proposed a new paradigm for understanding the phenomena of life on the scientific basis. Therefore this paper attempted a consilience of philosophy and science, East and West, and tried to explore the structural proximity and intersection between the two disciplines. The structural proximity of Donghak’s life thought and postgenomics is found in the following three aspects. First, two disciplines search for the source of life in integration and connectivity, second, two disciplines explain the principle of life through a dialectical circular structure, and third, two disciplines ultimately aim for subjectivity and self-creation through the process of unity. Like this, Donghak s life thought and postgenomics have very important significance in that it views life as a mechanism that dynamically changes and interacts.
